Basically what we already knew except now you get to hear it directly from the producers and the stars of the real world. Essentially, MTV would misrepresent several characters in order to get higher ratings. For example, they would blow issues, fights, problems, sex, etc. out of proportion and make it seem like an everyday issue in order to draw more people in. Then as they realized the success of sex in selling the show they would continually cast the show such that people would obviously be hooking up on tv all the time. This culminated in teh vegas show where everybody hooked up, had sex, whatever in the first week. It's just disgusting to see them attempt to appeal to pop culture over the years, and in that attempt they actually start defining pop culture. Therefore you have this neverending cycle to continually push the limits. |

| I've always suspected as much. The more "real" they claim to be the more produced and fake it actually is. My problem with these shows is that they around with real ppl lives for entertainment and ratings. Its amazing the way they expliot these ppl and the length ppl go to degrade and humilate themselves and others for money and fame. |

My Russian friends used to greet each other this way, so I think it's more of a culture thing in this case :p |

its funny becasue when i first saw it on tv, part of me was in joy from seeing the two girls kiss but subconsciously i knew it was just a publicity stunt and i was telling myslef not to enjoy it becasue you giving in and doing exactlay what mtv wants you to do. |
