I think that soaking is rather warm water will help the glue come off easily. |

The adhesive from duct tape comes off really well with citrus cleaners like that crap they hawk on TV all the time.
Regular water really doesn't get rid of the stuff very well though the heat will soften the adhesive so the tape will peel off easier.
