Are we allowed to talk about drugs here?
I apologise if the answer is no.
By comparison, weed isn't really drug anyway...
Seeing as how a physical addiction isn't possible, I think I'm psychologically addicted to weed. I started almost 10 years ago when I was 15 and I've had at least one joint per day for the last 10 years. I don't even think i've gone for more than a week without smoking. I think i've become dependant on it for it's more redeeming qualities. I often tell people that "it calms the voices". Before all of you go screaming 'nutcase' I just mean that my mind is usually racing. I can't be left to my own devices because I have all these thoughts and scenarios flying around all the time at light speed. When I smoke weed, everything calms to a screeching halt.
It's pretty much guaranteed to sedate me no matter how crazy things are.
Anyone else in the same boat?
Anyone have any solutions? |

| Not addicted to weed....and it is a drug. It just happens to be more socially acceptable than drugs like crack, and hence why smokers always try to disassociate weed from the label of "drug." |

I think this discussion is entirely open for debate.
While social acceptability plays a big part, I think the regulations of the local authorities plays an equally big part.
I think of weed as being completely separate from other "drugs" because of its less physically addictive quantites and the fact that it's not as mind altering.
caffienne is considered as a drug because it's highly addictive, and alters your mood, and yet, nobody seems to think so....
conversely, alchohol is more dangerous than marijuana has ever been and yet people still think marijuana is so bad. |

I'm fully up for a weed debate. :D
I never claimed that caffeine and alcohol aren't drugs. Of course they are. Caffeine doesn't impair the way alcohol and weed can/do though.
Why do you think the "regulations of the local authorities plays an equally big part?" You mean, weed shouldn't be considered a drug because the local authorities have eased their focus on it as such?
I don't think marijuana is "bad." It's side effects are much different than that of alcohol's, though. Weed has its negative effects just like every other substance you ingest. |
