David Blaine - "The Living Jesus"???

Blaine, who previously has encased himself in ice for three days and spent 35 hours standing atop a 100-foot pole, plans to enter a plastic box suspended from a crane 40 feet above the Thames on Friday. His goal is to remain there, consuming only water, for 44 days.
The magician told reporters the box would contain only "some diapers, a journal, some pens and some lip balm pretty much." |
Ok, this guy has floated in mid air out in the open on the streets, its real. I actually believe his , its too AMAZING to be untrue. Now, he doing this ? What does everyone else think of his skills, and him as a person?

| yeah, that guy's pretty amazing...but the floating trick was demonstrated on one of those "magician's secrets revealed" type of shows, i remember seeing that one :D |

| I remember having a history lesson on acient teqniques that the human body could deal with, in modern society we are used to eating 3-4 times a day so are bodys get used to it, aboriganies could not eat for weeks and still be ok, like icemen could live in ice for weeks, its like bruce lee could channel his energy around his body and snap it out at you and your prob dead, i think blaine is one of these humans who have meditated, practised and revised the human form to an extreme level. Some of his tricks are completley impossbile like the card on the other side of the glass window ? science could not prove how that would be possbile. its all too wierd |

Theres no such thing as magic, so he isnt magic, his stuff isn't real, its an illusion. Simple as that. Being a magician is all about being an actor, and having the balls to pull off the most ridiculous things right infront of people, he acts like he is a magician, when really he's a fake!
This is the case for ALL magicians, including myself!
However, Blaine is by far the best actor i've ever seen! And I admir him for that!

The card is held on the window (with magic wax i think it is called) before the trick is even started with a person. He then gets a passer by and "forces" them to pick a card (which is evidently the same card in the window), and then puts it anywhere in the pack and throws it at the window, and its there. How simple? But how effective is what you should be asking!

If u believe that u'll believe anything :rolleyes: he's a great, no better yet, amazing illusionist, but at the end of the day thats as far as it goes.
i also saw the magic tricks revealed program and was most disappointed with the fact that the levitating one was merely a camera trick.
with this one where he will be suspended over the river thames, its pretty obvious the water he has to live on will be packed with vitamins, carbohydrates, etc. |

Blaine is da man!! Sure, his tricks are just illusions, all 'magic' tricks are, but nobody can deny that standing up encased in an ice block for 60-odd hours or being buried alive for a week isnt impressive.
