Musician Earplugs in the GTA
View this Thread in Original format

I've finally made the decision to buy musician ear plugs. I was deaf for about a week when I was young, and regained my hearing through a series of operations. I don't want to lose my hearing again, because if I never regained my hearing as a child, I would have never been listening to this music!

So does anyone know where to buy musician ear plugs in the GTA?
DJ Chrono
.you can go to an audiologist (spl?) and get custom ones where they take a mould of your ear canal.. then you can have interchangable filters decreasing the db level by different amounts, while retaining the frequeny

check with your doctor on where to go if you dont know of any

How much are they approx? I heard $100-$200.

Does anyone know where to find simple foam ear-plugs?
Home Depot?

How much for a case?

Highroller - no ? I had a buddy that went through similar stuff. Everytime it'd get cold, he'd bitch about the tubes in his ear... the material not contracting or something.

You can get some decent ones at Shopper's for like $5 or so. They are way better sound quality than the foam crap ones they have at clubs.

I started wearing earplugs at parties the last few times. It's a good idea. I just use the foam ones from shoppers, and they work well to reduce the db without muffling the sound. I also am considering some musician's earplugs though. I'm starting to notice more and more people wearing them at clubs now also.

I've used the ones from shoppers and while better than the crap foam ones they still reduce the sound quality by alot.

I agree that they reduce sound quality, but I find it worse to not wear the plugs and then put them in my ears after hearing it without first. I mean, your ears get used to the sound without the plugs and then you put them in and it makes it worse than if you wear them right from the beginning.
