I had an annoying pop-up of an Italian porn website (!) and here's what I did:
1) I realised it was opening a program and it was in my windows taskbar
2) I pressed ctrl+alt+del and tried to find out which programme it was
3) After I found out its name, I searched for "xxxx.exe" in my computer and if it was written in any other files.
4) I found out there was a string in a bloody dll file in my windows' system directory. I edited the file so it wouldn't be able to work anymore (I replaced everything for "Mary had a little lamb")
5) I also ran msconfig.exe and there's no programme running on windows start up right now, I guess.
I can't be arsed to download spywares and such :D |

Imo, Spybot Search & Destroy works a lot better than Adware plus.
Have u considered using a pop-up stopper? |

I used to use both but found Spybot always found more especially registry entries.
Has anyone tried Adaware 6? (I used Adaware Plus 5.83) |

| I had a similar problem, are they windows messenger messages? If so then you need to go into your system config to disable windows messaging. If this is the problem lemme know and I'll post on how to do it. |
