First the clothes that I put in the dryer for him..ran it exactly as he wanted it to...just so I could run a load of clothes for myself. Was not dry enough and he exploded.

Next, I got an interview with a financial service company on wednesday and he exploded again because it was not good enough. I mean it's a huge industry and a job is a job....i just finished college and I am looking for work. Plus it deals with people and I love dealing with people.

Then to top all off, he goes a light is too bright in the basement, I said no ...bulb burns out..i used a 60W instead of a 40W and he goes mental....rofl...like it will affect the power bill that much plus it's his fault that he did not buy enuf light bulbs.

so anyone else have a member of your family that yells too much?

One of the elements of my upbringing that has had the most effect on me is my stereotype of the way a man should behave. There are few things I find more repulsive than a man who cannot control his emotions under ordinary circumstances... I's bad enough when women lose control but when men do it I just find it so contradictory of my definition of a man that its disgusting. Hence when I am confronted by a man getting angry over something trivial I usually respond at best by smiling politely and responding in a very calm tone... this makes the person yelling feel stupid and they will usually calm themselves and continue.

My mother is absolutely psychotic when it comes to yelling...
About 3 or 4 times a month she loses it on me for nothing (last time was because i wanted to go on holiday which i was paying for, but it can be about school or laundry, music, you name it) and screams for about 6 hours straight for maybe 2 or 3 days. I'm not joking, she will pick on every single aspect of my life and every little up i've had and just blow it up into some huge thing and keep going on and on about it.
She'll yell for about 30 mins, take a 5 min break to think of what she wants to say next, starts yelling again for 30 mins, and so on and so forth. Joy.
And you can't escape her either. I've tried going to my room and closing the door, but she'll stand outside my door and yell or (if i haven't thought of locking the door) she'll come in there and yell at me while i'm lying on my bed reading or something.
She even follows me if i'm walking out of the house to refrain from saying something i would eventually regret (which unfortunately i end up saying anyways:().
Sometimes i'll be on msn with my bf and the conversation is something like:

Him: Hey what's up?
Me: Oh not much, my mom's being a b**** and yelling at me again
Him: Oh...
[insert about 2 hrs of conversation here]
Him: She still yelling?
Me: Yup...

I know what you mean, my dad freaks out over stupid things, like for example if someone finishes the orange juice in the fridge and doesn't replace it, so there's not a cool one... I know that's annoying, but its hardly worth yelling over.

you should all sue your parents for assault hehehe. that'll do the trick. then take the money you win and move out on your own...
torontotrance
It's Canada, you can't sue anyone for any amount of money as happens sometimes in the states. Our courts have much different and stupid laws and it takes forever to get cases settled by the courts.

ah yes...i forgot that we all leave in different countries for a moment hehehe...

Seriously some lawsuits take 10 yrs to settle in Canada.....the cost usually outweighs the benefits. Unless you are a part of the native groups suing the federal gov't for backpayments = 30-150Billion and that has been in the courts for at least a decade.

lol

whats interesting is that all our parents got this from their parents but they don’t realize it or refuse to admit it... its kinda retarded how the cycle goes around and around...chances are some of you are going to do the same to your kids unless you can see yourself doing it and consciously make the decision to stop

life sucks like that, but its good that you can change it
