Ok, so I came into a bit of money and will be purchasing all new equipment in the next month or so...

I want to purchase..
2 new cd players
1 4 channel mixer (or more channels)
2 turntables
2 cartridges
2 powered monitors (or monitors w/ amp)

total should be around $4000.00

I've been dj'ing for about 4 years now and finally I can get all the equipment I want at one time instead of piecing it together.
Already sold my old cd players so I gotta get the stuff soon...

What do you guys think I should buy?? (I especially need advice on the monitors) Everthing else I think I'm set on, just want others ideas.
Vlad
Im sure u know what mixer, tt's, and cd player you want... approximately how much money would you have left over for monitors??

Cause you can range from M-Audio BX8's ($480 pair) to JBL Linears ($2000 pair ;))

Build your own ing setup!!! :whip: :whip: :whip:

:stongue: j/k

im no expert on this but im sure ppl will recommend you go with a pair of Technics 1200's for the TTs and the Pioneer CDJ1000's, if you can afford it, for the cdjs
auujay
Well with tons of money I would get

2 Pioneer CDJ1000 or whatever the name is

1 Allen & Heath Xone-62 (http://www.allen-heath.com/xone62.asp)

2 Technics SL-1200 Mk3Ds

2 Shure Whitelable carts (http://www.needlz.com/cartridges/whitelabel.asp)

and get some nice "reference" quality monitors with matched sub (Mackie, M-audio, etc.)
http://www.m-audio.com/products/m-audio/studiophileSPBX8.php & http://www.m-audio.com/products/m-audio/studiophileSP8s.php

or
http://www.mackie.com/products/hr824/index.html & http://www.mackie.com/products/hrs120/index.html

You guys need to learn to do math, honestly

2 Tech = $1000
2 CDJ-1000 mk2 = $2100
1 A&H Xone:62 = $1000
2 Shure Whitelabels = $200

Total = $4300... his limit is $4000
Now he cant afford monitors...

Plus I wouldnt suggest CDJ-1000's, Denons are better, they have mp3 playback and are firmware upgradable, meaning you download updates for the player, put them on a CD, put the CD in the player, your player reads it, and now your player is fully updated with new things.

My opinion is get this

2 Tech MK5G = $1000 (pair)
1 Denon DN-S5000 = $900
1 A&H Xone:62 = $1000
2 Shure Whitelabels = $200

Total comes out to $3100, now you have $900 left to buy monitors with... With whatever money is left over from buying monitors... save it for another CDJ.

My 2 cents,

Vlad M

Like I said earlier, I'm pretty sure what I'm going to get... so I just wanted to see if it fit in with what everyone else would get...:toocool:

I like this set up...you may want to skimp on the MK5G's and go for cheaper mk2's instead though...why? So you can get Mackie HR824 monitors, which are the industry standard, and run ~600 each. :)

Sorry I was mistaken by price, MK5G would be $1100. I meant the MK5's which are $500 each, new mk2's are $450 each. He still wouldnt have enough for Mackie's.

If you choose to switch the A&H mixer for a Tascam X-9, you might be able to get those Mackie's. Something about the Tascam: 2 F/X banks, 2 sampler banks, and alot of other stuff. "Its a Pioneer DJM600 on steroids."

Hey M8! Here you go:

2 Tehcnics SL1210 MK5G
2 Pioneer CDJ800
2 Shure WhiteLabel Carts
1 Tascam X-9 Professional 4 channel mixer
1 pair of M-Audio BX 8 Active Studio Monitors with built in cross overs.
total price before shipping costs is $4093.00 minus $100.00 rebate for each CDJ800 unit or minus $100.00 for one unit and free Pioneer HDJ1000 headphones(which are awesome btw) your choice.
Your special fellow TA price is $3807.28 plus shipping and minus rebates or a rebate and headphones. Visit our site at

www.djmart.com

If you don't scratch you don't need to go all out and get cdj1000s, the cdj800 will do just fine and they also have rebates available which cdj1000 doesn't. But if you need to scratch once in a while, cdj800 will handle perfectly as well.

Cheers... pm me if you need other suggestions or instructions on ordering.

Have to agree, skip the Pioneer CDJ's and get Denon's. They're ing insane.

ChavezHype

Rane Empath Mixer
Shure Whitelabels
Pioneer HDj-1000s
M-Audio BX8 monitors.
And I couldnt be happier... other than this ing homework!!!! UHHH
