i think the red army might the championships these year, whoops wrong thread :D, tho the best team with the biggest chance to win the whole playoffs is i think the devils or stars, if marty plays better, tho this year maybe the buds will win it at last

Stars wont win, Stars will be in like 4th place probably playing against St. Louis - chances are the second place team will either be Detroit or Vancouver - either way Stars will loose in the second round if not the first.
Ottawa is probably the most improoved team in the past 3 years, I find them the biggest thread in the East. If the Av's pick up CuJo, than that will be their final piece. CuJo is good enough to keep them winning and not have a high GAA - especially since the Av's defense is quite strong - behind Foote and Blake, along with others. As for the Wings, bringing Hasek back from retirement might not be a smart thing - unless hes been practicing for the past 2 years. He will still have some rust on him when he gets back on the ice. I expect it to take him a couple weeks to get situated again on the Ice. Seeing as the wings lost their #1 player, Sergei Federov, to the Ducks - ok so they picked up Darien Hatcher - but they cant compensate for all the scoring Federov does. I think they put way too much weight on the new kid on the block Pavel Datsyuk. |

It's hard to imagine the Avs not winning the west coast if Aebischer can play well. The Sakic/Kariya/Selanne line moves the puck so well, and in addition to their obvious first line the checking line with Battaglia/Hinote/Nikolishin has alot of depth and talent as well. I hate how they can just buy talent like the Wings do, but I love to watch it.
On the East, I think it's Ottawa, I just hope they go all the way this time instead of flopping at the end of previous years. They've been a good team for a long time now. |

i'd hate to say it too but the Sens will make it to the Eastern Conference finals
But only to fall to the almighty Leafs :D
Avs will have a serious run at the cup if Aebischer doesn't fall to the pressure. Kariya and Selanne is looking great in the 2 games they've played. |

Forsberg's also on that line, but the Kariya and Selanne line looks like they play alot better together than the first line in the first 2 games. I assumed everyone would know about the first line, but the checking line doesn't seem to be as well known for their talent.
Not to mention their defense, if Foote can stay healthy. |
