That's what I think might have been in my pill the last time i rolled because I could not sweat at all so my body temp. just kept getting higher and higher. One of the reasons E ruins the scene so bad is because all these organizations are actually trying to ban all rave and trance/techno concerts because of the drug. I believe it's called the National Rave Act or something. It's horrible, and I hope they never succeed. We use to have a show here every summer called rave on the rocks, and they made the radio station change the name because they said raves are associated with Ecstasy. They even tryed to ban the show permanently. See how it's ruining the scene?

First off, there is no such thing as a "pure" e. at least 50% of the pill is binder, which is an inert ingredient that holds the MDMA molecules in the pill form. I understand what you are saying though, and yes, pills where MDMA, MDEA or MDA is the only active ingredient are fairly rare (odds say something like 1 in four). Average MD* content in a pill ranges something like ~80 mills which is a threshold dose.

Second off "DXM" is not a horrible drug at all. It's what they put in OTC cough syrup. Mixed with Ecstacy it has a particularly bad effect but by itself it's a pretty safe (and interesting) drug.

Drugs, in themselve are not 'ruining' the scene. Maybe the crap they attract is ruining the scene... blame the (irresponsible) users, not the drug.

:) :( :p

Why is this piece of still in the wrong forum?

We should have a drug forum here where all you pill-poppers could talk trash in peace.

stop being so cynical :p

there is an article in mixmag about 20 good things that drugs have done for humans.

One that will apply here is a quote from some old rock guy.

it is "If you don't think that drugs have had any effect on music and its development through the years, then you'd better go home and smash up all your records. Why? Because all the people were all real ing high on drugs"

Its almost verbatim :toothless

Look;
I don't really care whether you do drugs or not. Beatles did drugs and they've produced few of the most influential records of all time.

But all this drug talk... it just doesn't belong here.

WOW, I really feel that the above sums it up. I think the place that the general population is going wrong is just a simple lack of knowledge about the drug, and the understand that ANYTHING used in moderation can be safe and enjoyable as long as it’s used in a responsible manner.

I'll jump on that band wagon as well. I think overdoing Ecstasy is just stupid--why waste what could truly be a good time? It's mostly the younger ones that get crazy with it--and pretty much for that reason I've opted to go the House "party" route rather than the club scene. There's something about the sight of "little" girls crippled in the corner that I just can't stand.

BTW, Disco is such a great dog. :happy2:

I totally agree with you Mr Mystery! This discussion doesn't belong to that forum.

Maybe some people think talking about doing drugs is cool....

Thank you!!

Who said anything about cool? it's just a phenomenon associated with the music scene. Good or bad, I won't pass judgement on, but associated nevertheless, so the discussion very much belongs here I think.

Trancegirl: allthough there probably are some idiots who do drugs to "be cool" or get "ed up", the majority are perfectly normal people who desire something extra from an allready good experience (ie a party).. Read around abit and you'll know that most people don't do drugs to be cool .

The R.A.V.E. act was issued this year which gives the right for the police to shut down clubs and events which drug use is being conducted at. And for those of you who don't thinh this threat is real....the biggest club in the U.S., Club Space34 in Miami, Florida is now being forced to shut down their doors because of all the negative press about ecstasy use assosiated with clubs...they just shut down the biggest club in the U.S. because of ecstasy, this is real and this sucks expecially for all the non or ex-drug users who are trying to enjoy going out and having fun because drug users can't keep their drugs at home.

This mistake was the main reason why the rave act was passed (the researchers rushed to get this out just before the rave act was being considered):

If anyone wants to see some drug statistics visit:
www.briancbennett.com

"On this site I use only the latest and most complete government statistics and reports to prove quite readily that we are being severely misdirected about the "drug problem" in America. I have turned all of the data into graphics which show quite conclusively the extent of the lies being told about drugs and drug users in America. I am using the exact same data sources that our government uses to "justify" waging this war against our fellow citizens. The difference is, that I tell you what they aren't telling us, and put the numbers into perspective."

And if u were wondering about the high amount of cannabis er visits in this pic..

it's "whether" my dear.

If you need to get f00ked up on E, please go ahead. But, if you feel like you are going to kick the bucket, please take it outside the club and don't ruin my experience and the possibility of clubs being able to offer good DJ's in the future.

Its the government ruining it not the users

So, 20% of users came in from overdose? That's pretty interesting, when it's nearly physically impossible to overdose on marijuana.

It's also done by someone at the US government. Besides, they said, "Mention of marijuana". That means someone could be speedballing, then they OD and get to the ER, and they ask, "What drugs have you done?", and they may happen to mention marijuana. 98% of those mentions are probably in connection with a drug not marijuana.
