Folks, lets look at the good side, how many people in the future will it help? I just feel that the problem with this whole thing is that people get caught up in the religious/moral issue surrounding this issue. Let’s face it, without research on steam cells and living beings were just not going to live very long. I have been reading a book called "The Hot Zone" that talks about research being done on monkeys so that we can find a cure for Ebola and I hate that monkeys must die for this effort BUT, if the time ever comes that the world is faced with a true global Ebola outbreak I sure will be happy that a few monkeys died and not billons of people.

| Id personally say we should do stuff like pave over mudpits in Africa so people arent getting worms and other crazy infections. Put them in decent housing and get their food properly taken care of. I mean, we COULD just keep curing diseases forever, but thats like giving a guy heart surgery every 10 years when hes eating 5 cheeseburgers a day. Just quit eatin the damn cheese burgers and we wont have to do Open Heart! *smack!* |

Well, talking about Ebola, we (the human race) have no idea where it comes from. It's not just sick people in S. Africa causing our issues and that’s like saying lets ban guns in the US, it's just to late. These are the cards we have been giving and it sucks, but, we MUST deal with it or face death.
I also need to say that why is driving a car down the road and killing bugs in the process ok but doing test on animals are not, they are both living but for some reason it's ok for people that have moral issues with testing don’t have the same moral issues about dieing bugs. Not to be petty but I think it's something to think about. |
