| SO what do you guys think? I bought it the day after it came out. I must say this album is very different, I only like about 3-4 tracks. Is it me or is Jan Johnson on like a load of tracks? |

It definately is different, but I honestly like this CD a lot. I'm a die hard PVD fan, so I'd be the first to bash his experimenting with new sounds. But in all honesty, I think he did a great job of trying some new stuf (Time Of Our Lives, Knowledge)f, and then balancing it with some outstanding trance (Crush, Connected, Buenaventura, Nothing But You).
Honestly, this is the CD I was hoping BT's Emotional Technology would be. The lyrics aren't shallow and disjointed like ET's lyrics, and the instrumental track as simply awesome. Overall, maybe not quite as good as his previous albums, but WAY better than the other artists have been releasing of late. |

BT went way too experimental with 'ET'...although PvD does some experimenting with this album, it still has an overall "PvD feel" to it...doesn't top 'OTAB' but still a good album. Next thing to anticipate from PvD is 'VDT2'...but who knows how long it'll take for that to come out. |

| imo i think this cd is not that bad as others have said it was. i like 9 out of the 13 tracks that are on it.the first itme i heard that's life i was like wtf? thast paul no way he voice sounds like that lol .neways hes just trying out new stuff and people are bashing him about that im like wtf he cant try new stuff is that a crime u cant just stay the same way your whole career u have to move on like other djs have too. |

| I agree. I like this CD a lot. In many ways artists are damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they try something new, their hardcore fans hate them. If they stay the same, people say they're boring. I think PVD did an awesome job of trying some new styles while also perfecting his own style, and really bringing it all together onto one amazing album. Like I said before, Reflections is the album I was hoping Emotional Technology would be, but wasn't. |

| Totally agree, not being a biased pvd hater, i mean DAMN...Out There and Back has been in my CD player for the past 2 weeks...that album is 100% quality. But to follow it up with this cheesy, amatuerish produced album is utter crap. There's like 2-3 decent tunes on it, the rest suck. That attempt at a rap track is dismall, i mean, if your gonna do it, do it right. The whole album would fit right in during a peaktime slot on any commercial radio station. PvD, for Reflections, i want you to die!! :p |

| I'm gunna have to go with the supporters of the CD and say that I really enjoy it. So what it's not what PvD normally produces or spins, but everyone has to try something new. Besides...I would consider it a good CD alone just for Nothing But You, Crush, Connected, and Time of Our Lives. Then add on some tight breakbeats like in the track Knowledge and some chilled out tracks like Homage and Buenaventura and you have a great CD. This isn't a mix CD so he can make any type of track he wants. You just need to go into the CD not trying to expect what is going to come next. I could see how if you were expecting every track to be like Crush then you might be a bit disappointed, but still...it's a good CD overall and after everything Paul has given to us I think we just need to give him the freedom to be creative and try some new stuff. It's not like the man is never going to bring us something amazing again..... |

i agree mate...except crush(that i really really like!) and 2-3 other tracks all the other i think it's ...not good...i think in the cd must me included a second mixed cd with the remixed tracks of the original cd with more energy!it's too damn slow!!!! |

| im actually listening to it right now, now what i expected, but so far i like it. the tracks that i didnt liek the first time around are growing on me everytime i listen to them. totally not typical PVD, but overall i like it. |

mine is on the way, so I haven't heard the full album yet (just the video & samples). But it seems to be (like Vero said) the type that grows on you, not an instant hit, but also feels(like Sgus said) kind'a slow.
Experimenting is always good. But, not to lose fans, he should release new (good)trance soon. + I assume his sets won't change that much???? |

| I've already given my opinion and said that I like the CD, but after reading the article about PvD in this month's issue of Mixmag I have a lot more respect for it. Not only does Paul have the right to express his creativity, he also has a lot of reasons for making certain tracks. There is a lot behind what he produces and from reading the article I found that songs like "Never Forget" are pretty deep stuff. That song was written all about Nazi Germany and Paul's hatred for it. "Like a Friend" is about Third World poverty, an issue that PvD takes seriously and works toward ending. Also, PvD isn't in music for the money so he can really make whatever he wants. When it comes to spinning he is always one of the best and you can count on him to put on a good show. His CD is just an expression of himself so if people don't like it he probably isn't bothered. But yea I'm done rambling so that's all I've gotta say. Cheers. |
