k..im startin to make the transition from CD/VCD to Vinyl, and do I really NEED the 1200s? They are in expensive in canada(close to $1000 apiece)

I mean, im just dickin around, not like I need to bring them anywhere to spin on...I might do some basement parties for friends n ..but thats it. I KNOW 1200s are the best, but do I really NEED them?

Ps Johnny...what ever happened with those Denons?

jspot, id say basic price for new is like 750-800
500 sounds sketchy

but do NOT pay more than 900, or even 800
you can definitely find better prices.

ok, since you asked if you really NEED the Technics, I say NO.
It really depends on your plans. If you checked out one of my mixes you probably noticed that they are very precise with no dodgy transitions...I am using one Technics and one SONY PS-T33, which is about 15 years old and only has a little .5 inch turning knob for adjusting the pitch:D
You can go with cheaper turntables, but once you get to spin at a club there will be technics, and it was REALLY hard to get used to this, even though I had one at home. It's just not the same as using two. But if you just wanna play around, you can get pretty good with cheap-ass decks.
