It's not stealing if i have 90% of them on CD or Vinyl already anyway, or plan to buy (as sometimes is the case)
Mp3's are an indespensible tool for the DJ. |

I BUY MY ING MUSIC.
What difference does it make that i download the tracks separately, compared to recording a set that i'll listen to myself later, or let others listen to?
It's only illegal if the record company is on the RIAA's list.
I somehow doubt that STIK, TIDY and A++ are on the RIAA list. |

I don't care whose list it's on, stealing a TV from the electronics store on the grounds that I was "planning to pay for it in a few days" isn't going to get me off the hook. Maybe you won't get sued for it if it's not on the RIAA's list (you won't get sued in Canada period), but that's really not the same thing now is it?
I'm personally curious to know why you'd have 30 gigs online of music that you own on CD... I mean, it would take a pretty long time to rip all that. |

Has anyone here heard of CD burners? They enable you to back up all your music files onto CDs.:rolleyes:
And regarding the legality issues when it comes to music, you can all kiss my ass, cuz I'll be downloading all the songs I can any way I can, unless you guys feel like chipping in $100 a week (each) so I can actually buy all those tunes on vinyl. And yeah, I do buy a few vinyls here and there too (WOOT!) |

Unlike some people, i don't make up for my dick by having a large collection of mp3s

What bothers me more than anything, is the time and effort that went into my 80's and Oldskool Euro collection.
Oldskool Euro (91-96 stuff) is a bitch to find and download.

because, then i can make the decision on whether i want to buy the vinyls. If the track sucks, it gets deleted, and i don't dare touch the vinyl.
That's what makes my selection as a DJ, amazing.
A lot of you have apparently forgotten why this website was started in the first place. Oh yeah... not to mention the amount of trance tunes out there that have SND_www_tranceaddict_com attached to their file name. |
