it's just an over-used statement. i just won't say it cause it became a cliché

music can give you a state of euphoria, of course not as big as being drugged. that's why all of us (well, must of us) listen to trance music.

I don't do drugs. just sometimes a little bit of alcohol, but not even to the point of becoming drunk. and i can enjoy the music and have a great time.

you talked about the association of drugs with music, and i really didn't get your point. it's exactly against the association of drugs with music that these people say it. i personally don't have anything against someone that takes some drugs once a while to have fun in a club and doesn't disturb anyone, but i do have some issues with fuc*ers that are there for the drugs and not for the music. and this whole media thing of electronic music = ecstasy (didn't the USA just approve a law that directly makes this association by giving a penalty only to electronic music parties?!) is ing annoying as well.

Maybe we just stay 'til 6 AM because we're there with 15 of our friends, having an awesome time listening to tunes and dancing? That doesn't mean that we equate it to drugs for any reason. I can stay up 'til 6 AM studying for an exam, too. (Incidentally, I usually leave at around 3-5 these days, but I stayed 'til 6 at Armin).

I can see how, if someone used to get high at clubs all the time, and then later on hears tunes that they remember from those times, it might make them feel good... just in the sense of triggering good memories... but I think it's bollocks to actually compare that to BEING the drug.

So you won't touch alochol right? :nervous:

I believe Chicago was one of the first cities to associate DJs and clubs/parties with drugs. At one point i heard that any room with more than 50 people with a DJ is illegal. I don't know if they reversed it tho. Some states outright shutout parties if they find out there is a "chill out room." at the party.
And about the laws, Electronic music along with glowsticks, pacifiers and beads are all shown to drug officers in their search for drug users/dealers .They are pretty serious about that here in San Diego.

To put it in a language you can understand:
