I wouldn't. Take them back as soon as you receive them. Those MDR-V700DJ's are overhyped and overrated. |

| its true, the 700s are way overpriced. the only reason is they "look cool" sound quality isnt bad, but its definatly not the best. and the durability on them really blows. Mine cracked and everyone else that i know that has a pair cracked as well. that wasnt the worst part, i duct tapped them, ect. but a month after that the left phone went out. And this was only a year after i bought them. I just rescently replaced them with the 280 pros. Completely different. And completly better. 280s are sooo clear, and the bass is wickedly sharp. Plus the isolation on them is ridiculous. go with the 280s. best phones on the market. |

mOsh - try www.etronics.com - they are in NYC I believe, they have the Sennheiser HD-25 on their website for 145. I got my Senn HD-280 from them for 75 - no problems at all with my online order or the headphones, received in 7 days by $6 UPS ground. Presumably you will be able to go their actual store location. B and H Photo Video www.bhphotovideo.com in NY might have them too.
The 280's work fine but are sort of big, the HD-25 presumably has even better sound and is smaller which could be a plus for DJ gigs. |

| I also bought my HD-25's from www.etronics.com, I never had any problems with them. I read a few negative reviews, and it appears they no longer stock the HD-25's. damn good deal on those phones, when they're in stock, they sell em for ~$150! |

i'd say go with the hdj1000s. i own a pair and it is durable and the sound quality is amazing. noise reduction is really good as well.
the only con i have about the hdj1000 is that it is rather heavy and when worn for long hours can be quite a burden to the head.

| yeah, the pioneers get a bit uncomfortable if you wear them for long long periods (2hrs+) but aprart from that they are fantastic. |

interesting to follow this discussion, even it doesn't get me any wiser.. :p
I'm about to buy me some new headphones, but i realy dunno what i should go for now...
It stands between
Sony's MDR V700 and
Pioneer's HDJ 1000
I mean the Sony headphones looks realy cool, and so many well known dj's use them, so it can't be teh .
But after reading on about their huge bass reflection and stuff i'm not quite sure anymore..
So now i'm thinking more of buying the pioneers, cuz i don't whant that heavy bass i think.. heh
but then i hear Pioneer is less confortable to wear..
..so what should i go for? :conf:
ps. i'm going down town tomorrow to try out each of em.. ;) |
