Trance is:
-A hypnotic, cataleptic, or ecstatic state.
-Detachment from one's physical surroundings, as in contemplation or daydreaming.
-A semiconscious state, as between sleeping and waking; a daze.

I know it seems an obvious question.. & I know what it is..but..only my interpretation of it..what's yours..like how would you explain it to someone who has no idea of trance, of which I always find myself having to do lately.

Just curious to hear other peoples ideas.

trance music is EDM music, that stimulates euphoria by attending to ones deep emmotions via driving basslines and synth's. For those fortunate enough to say they have their best memories and experiences from some particular trance event in the past... kudos to you you know what its all about

When you compare trance to other forms of EDM (house, techno, prog, electronica, etc), you can see how each genre of EDM stimulates something different. Techno stimulates that Deep, inhuman side of music, prog has the deep funky feel, electronica is for those who like different left field type sideways sounds, and house stimulates hangbags and stevie brand clothing. Just kidding, house has a more soulfull party feel to it.

These forms of EDM have different roots, you know some relate back to hip hop underground scene from uk from years ago, some from the evolution of synthesizers and so forth. You would be supprised as to how many influences black culture has on house music and techno !
