Can anybody answer this question?
I know it seems an obvious question.. & I know what it is..but..only my interpretation of it..what's yours..like how would you explain it to someone who has no idea of trance, of which I always find myself having to do lately.
Just curious to hear other peoples ideas. |

well anyways im kind of bored os heres what trance is if you want to get alittle technical
trance consist of 4/4 beats (a set of 4/4 beats = 1 bar)
its usually structured
something like this
| intro | body | breakdown build up climax | outro |
intro - its like a smaller part of the main theme (yeh the introduction of the main theme)
body - all the sounds are heard in here including the theme and building up to the climax!
usually there is a breakdown just before the climax
and after the breakdown BOOM climax will slap you in the face thats when u peak off your face and go nuts!
outro is when everything dies and nomore music?
i guess thats about it! ? |

don't pay too much attention to the author's comments (he's obviously not a fan of trance) but it's got examples and stuff which is cool :D |

I'm sick of trying to explain what is & isn't a specific style of music.
I rest easy in the fact that I don't (or very rarely) play it. |

don't listen to this cheese-elitist mate, his diet consists solely of goat semen!
I guess my intrepretation of trance is: oriented more towards synths and melodies than to percussion and beats, though they still play a part in the music of course, and a lot of trance is predictable in it's layout of intros, outros, climaxes, breakdowns, etc. Progressive trance I would say has more of an emphasis on percussion and beats than it does on intricate melodies and synths, though they play a part in prog.
But yeah, it's open to interpretation, so it's hard to be right or wrong about these things. Categorising music styles tends to be done with such elitish and strict attitudes at times, which I don't believe there is a need for. Describe your fav music with your own vocabulary and feelings I say :) |
