Its funny that a lot of the people that believe aliens crashed here also believe we are incapable of going to the moon. Seems kinda odd that aliens could...eh....fudge it.
I still think they actually went there. A lot of the proof it was fake stems from photographs and it seems that it can be explained by poor technology.....eh time for class, maybe I'll explain later. |

| i heard alot of convincing conspiracy theories as well.. but i have a hard time believing them. Mostly because we obviously have satilites, which means people have obviously been to space and dicked around there, and there are continually missions to space and so i think that astronauts are learning a great deal OF space, so why is it so unbelievable that they could land on the moon?:conf: |

| Amazing how many people think it's fake. Come on, the US is not the only nation in the world, if any of it was fake, all the other countries would have said so, especially the soviet union. |

Irony's a bitch:

| quote: | | For historical completeness, it should be mentioned that the very first lunar laser ranging observations of the Apollo 11 retroreflector package were made with the 3.1-m telescope at Lick Observatory [Faller et al., 1969]. However, the ranging system at Lick was designed solely for quick acquisition and confirmation, rather than for an extended program. In those very early days, successful lunar laser range measurements were also reported by the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories Lunar Ranging Observatory in Arizona [AFCRL, 1969] the Pic du Midi Observatory in France [Calame et al., 1970] and the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory [Kozai, 1972]. Over the past almost 30 years, lunar laser ranging has also been accomplished by stations in Maui, the former Soviet Union, Australia, and Germany. A new lunar capable station is being built by researchers in Italy. However, the only stations to produce these observations in a routine and continuous way are the McDonald station in the United States and the CERGA station in France. A paper describing the early efforts of the CERGA station can be found elsewhere in this volume [Veillet et al., 1993]. |

| If it is fake, which I doubt, then this would be, by far, the most embarrassing and pathetic moment in human history as far as I know. |

Testing for new age moon landing equipment? They gotta do it somewhere don't they? As for us never going back to the moon, why would we need to go back? It was just to say that we have put a man on the moon, plus it is dangerous (obviously) and now we just use robots to gather any data and samples we need from the moon. :toothless |
