Being serious for a moment...what do you guys think of this?

| quote: | MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. -- Ten women in Brevard County, Fla., including a 74-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl, who filed a federal lawsuit to abolish laws that prohibit women from going topless in places where men are permitted to go shirtless went public with their legal fight.
The "Top-Free Ten" women said in the suit filed in U.S. District Court in Orlando that they want the right to go top-free for sunbathing, gardening, swimming or mowing their front yards.
The women said that laws preventing them from taking their shirts off in public are similar to Muslim laws requiring women to cover themselves from head-to-toe.
"I don't believe there is any inherent evil in my breasts or a man's breasts," Norma Mitchell said. I don't believe my breasts are harmful, immoral, dangerous, lewd or frightening."
Jan Frandsen, a 46-year-old wife and mother, said the law as it stands is discriminatory.
"Bascially, this type of law labels women as being genetically inferior," Jan Frandsen said.
It's only a matter of time before women can remove their blouses when and where men can remove their tops, according to the group of women.
"I'm just hoping for equality," Jamie Hooper, 74, said.
No hearing schedule was announced

Merrit Island is like an hour away from me... I have family there!
I kind of agree with the sunbathing part of it... I have to go to a tanning bed in order to get rid of tan lines... but then again, I don't know. Too many perverts everywhere. I can just see this blowing up in their faces.
But Topless and mowing lawns...? SICK. :nervous: |

you can tan at my house....you can have yer privacy
dave, why be surprised, that happened in toronto in 1996 and is law now. It is legit for a woman to go topless in public...then again...men topless is still considered a crime....it should be...for some....hehehehe. |

hmmm...what kinda law REQUIRES men to take off there shirts? i've never heard of that?
anyway, i'm in agreement with those opposed. although i can't say i wouldn't love to see beautiful women roam the streets topless...the fatties and old people ruin this (for anyone that has been in a locker room knows which demographic most commonly let it all hang out :nervous: :nervous: ). anyway, to be fair...i don't want to see a bunch of fat guys walking around with their shirts off either.
the whole women's rights thing just gets a little out of hand sometimes. |

see we thought that in 1996 or was it 1997..no matter
for a week or two....you had hotties flashing one another but then that wore off. You don't see toplessness with women even thought, by law they can do it if required. |

tricky
I consider that to be for woman's sake... who knows what some weirdo may do at just a glimpse of some breasts?

I'm not surprised at all. :) In Austin the women protested about being arrested for being topless and the judge ruled that it was not indecent exposure. That was a few years back. The sag hag factor is there, but I think it's for the greater good.:) It's up to municipalities and not federal or even state governments so far as I know.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in many parts of Europe it's normal for women to be topless on the beach. *Remembers Bud commercial* :stongue: |
