| OMFG!!!! that is the biggest ing bull i ever saw!!!! CD is WAYYY better!!!! there is no damn static... PERFECT quality, no distortion, and SMALL which is easy to store... lighter weight, and since he likes the happy wavey lines on vinyl then i like the shiney multi colours suface of a cd!!!!! "A lacquer wears out after about 25/50 times, so more reason to play at just the best gig's, and that smell of accetate is undescripable." OMFG!!!!!! what a waste of ing money!!!!! i am not even gonna say anymore, cause i will end up writing an encyclopedia... |

hehe, yeah interesting site!!!
i like that cat picture too :D:D:D
...actually i have heard from numerous audio maniacs, that yes lps' are better sounding than cd's...of course they don't last as long, but a brand new lp will have a better sound than any cd (hey personally i'm positive i wouldn't be able to pick the difference, but people who say they can, say this :):):)) |

how is that when lp rips are full of static, cd rips are not, and cds are burned and read using powerful lasers in strict anti-static anti-dust environments and is all used with hightech equipment, when lp's are read with a neadle, oozes static, and are not in static free environments as they are spun in the open? sorry but i totally disagree with that!

| Ok, you guys like Coup and Yevat, you tell us that CD's are better then vinyl? So why do most Dj's still use vinyl? Have even a better story. A friend of mine who's DJ, spinned at a local festival (HouseTorhout). He wanted to use a CD, but he concluded that the CD player wasn't connected (huge mistake indeed for the organisators). So it indicates that the use of CD's is (still) unpopular in the Dj culture. |

While cd's are more durable, the sound quality on a new lp, using a very good phono/TT, with the right needle will be alot better than a cd...but of course, that's expensive as hell ;)
DJ's prefer it because vinyl gives you much more feel and control over the record. |

ok, lp's are better for dj's and stuff, not arguing that, but for actual sound quality, how can analouge be clearer and crisper than digital?

vinyls are 'better' than cds in many respects..
firstly.. they were the original.. and always will be
and yes.. the sound quality is 'better'
there is a higher range of frequencies a vinyl will emit..
and people actually prefer analog output than digital.. why do you think people invented D/A converters...
the crackle is what makes it so good..
it may not make sense.. and u may not agree.. but if ya dont then dieeeeeee |

thats mine and yevats point, how can a track full of "crackle" actually have better quality and crisper sound that clear, no-crackle digital?

| to be honest both has its positives and disadvantages....... i say why not use both....... and vinyl does have a more rounder sound to it then CDs...but cds are so easy to make ...so use cds and vinyl...to be in the top of your game...dont rely truely on Vinyl....cuz any dj knows certain songs are extremely hard to find on vinyl....... witht he internet and mp3s...u can burn a cd and use it that night..... so i say both...both are good...but Vinyl for actually djing is better then Cd cuz its better and more rounded sound and its more controlled then cds.......for cds its much cheeper, get any song u want, eaasy to carry.... less storage |

| Aight, DJ's use Vynils cause they can do much more things when the fading and scratching and so on ...well, they say they haave more control and is like a different feeling .. they are used to it, but CD"s are the new thing in DJ culture, will be not now, but in the future, you cant scratch a CD but there will be a thing that will eventually let you scratch it .. and there's DJ's that do play CD's on their sets.. Paul Oakey was once caught as I heard .. Tenaglia also .. but I dont know.. DJ booth on clubs , some have the spot for the CD ! |
