That is perhaps one of the most ignorant posts I have ever seen in my life, the music alone makes the word better, and what the do you expect islands in india and other things from that region to be called? ing mcdonalds island thatd be a great name for a genre.
Goa is a kick ass word for a kick ass genre. And you stand on a great deal of grounds to call something stupid, which presently seems to have outsmarted you. |

| I prefer the term psytrance but goa elitists will act like you just dropped the soap if you call goa "psytrance" sounds the fekkin same to me. Differences are rather trivial, not enough to support the splintering into different genres but thats just from my uneducated opinion... |

I feel there is a difference between psytrance and goa, both have distinctions in their sounds. When i say psytrance i am reffering to a different style than goa. It is somewhat like those fine lines that seperate epic from melodic at points, Both have very similar layouts but the feel of the tracks seperates them much like any two styles of music. I aint going to flame ya for thinking otherwise though heh, I am not a "goa elitist" haha |

i love goa, been there twice for raves and whatnot.. (i lived in india for 4 years) yeah i would post basically exactly what DJDigDug said, but instead ill make a few general differences between goa and psy.. psy trance has more high screechy sfx... i guess 'gms - lumberjack' sums it up pretty well.. goa has less crazy sfx for tunes, but it way deeper than normal trace.
ok that wasnt exactly a great explanation, but the difference is something you KNOW when hearing the two styles, way to hard to use words. |
