Owned? Um Tiesto still can't mix as well as he used to...sad indeed...
I want the old better Tiesto from back in 2000...too bad it won't happen.

DJing is not only about releasing mix CDs, you know...

Yes it also entails mixing well and putting together good sets, which Mr. Verwest also hasn't done this year.

And I've seen him live to know it first hand.

Nothing against him, but what exactly has he done to warrant #1 this year? Traffic, a few cool remixes, thats about all. Not that I'm a diehard AvB or PvD fanboy, but both put out solo albums this year, both did some big US touring, etc. Both of them deserve #1 more than Tiesto. But still, its a popularity contest anyways.

And I've seen him live 6 times this year alone to know that when he cares, he can put up the best show on earth... with mixing as good(or bad) as in his classic sets.

You've gotta be kidding, right?

I've got nothing against Tiesto, he spun a very fun party here a few months ago, but I don't think he deserved to be #1. He hasn't really demonstrated immense talent or done wonderful things for the scene. He's just the most popular.

Haha, I still remember years ago when nobody knew who Tiesto was... he was releasing awesome mixes back then.

i saw 'em all in their respective US tours. pvd played atrc, tool, nby and his whole ty album twice in the set. armin bored me to death. i also saw all of them in Europe this year, and there was nothing indicative that they were more 'deserving'. this is all subjective, can't you people understand that trance is not a sport or a science? it's art, period.
