I just found this turntable for 466 €. Is Akiyama a quality brand?¿
I'm thinking to buy a pair of turntables and my options are:
- Stanton ST-100
- Technics SL-1200 MK5 or MK2
- Akiyama Acura
What do you recommend me?¿

TECHNICS

It's a OEM-product,but much reviews say this turntable (akira) is better than technics.Atleast the torque is way higher :), It was 4,5kg I read somewhere. Also it has a stable arm and stuff, much people sold their technics for this one.

Personally I would just buy technics, since their so stable and still work good after a couple of years :)

id go for the technics

the other may have more stats on paper but it comes down to how well it performs and durability and thats exactly why technics is the industry standard

nope, The acura's are better than the technics. They have just like the technics the same audio quality and pitch precision. The torque is HUGE and the tonearm is perfect. It's cheaper than the technics. The acura's are very good.

Anybody got pics or specs or maybe even a website on this turntable, I wouldn't mind finding out more about it, thanks.

For a minute, i thought ACURA made "Akiyama Acura" :haha:

When will japanese car makers make turntables? They could make some high torque turntable motors :haha:

they're not japanese, they're actually belgian :p

comon people, let's look a little farther. sl1200's are tables from the '70ies. Why pay 550€ for a dated turntable with no features, while for 419€, you can get a turntable that has the same precision, the same sound quality (and if we may beleve the manufacurer) and the same durability? It's a waiste of money.
(just my opinion)
