i dont mind the aussie rules, they have to be the fittest players of all football codes
and its amazing how they get attendances of 40,000+ every week...put this to the lack of divirsity vic has in sport. smy rugby team is in the top sydney comp and we get around 200 spectators (and most of em are players). mind you we arent top 3 material, some teams get 600 to turn up (note though that they are all the rich pompus s that rugby is renowned for being filled with)

Still, the rugby tackles are better, you don't see people being lifted by three blokes, then being dumped on the ground as hard as possible in AFL. I don't know why i like the thugby better, afl just doesn't do anything for me. |

American sports sucks ass. They football leagues are played on converted (american tackle football) fields, and you can see the old lines. You play sports that are in no way world famous.
i have watch baseball games, and they are boring as hell. 3 hours of nothing but sitting there watching players stand around...oh...he hit the ball...its in the outfield!!..player throws ball...OUT!...next batter.....BORING!
Call your baseball championships "American Series", and call yourself "american champions" not world....because that is just cheap way of saying you are world champions when no one cares to play such a boring sport.
one more thing...japan plays baseball because when americans took over japan in 1945, americans was the first culture they had ever seen outside of japan, because of the centuries of isolation... |

I agree ..baseball is extremely boring...but I also think soccer is too...those 0-0 battles with 4 shots on goal...sorry...I'd rather watch curling (which is also boring).
Also realize, that about 50% of the players on a given baseball team are not Americans as well as the fact that all the teams are not in America...I know I know...most of you think Canada is the 51st state of the USA, but it really is a different country....Really...it is. So, although I'm not arguing we should call it the "World Series", calling it the "American Series", would be just as detrimental on the opposite spectrum.
Also...yes, the best players are lured to the best leagues not only because they may win championships, but because of the money. Money Money Money Money....Ask any player..."Hey come play for us over here and we'll give you double what you make now"..."and we are good" the answer is easy. Believe me, players wouldn't move away from home...to other countries half way around the world just because they are good if the $$$ wasn't there. Hell it's why I took my job away from where I lived...because of the money & quality of life. So it works in everything not just sports. |

So where is California or Cleveland or Boston? Honolulu?
And Canada is on the Continent called North America, and many players are from Mexico and Puerto Ricco at baseball team.
But Puerto Ricco is part of the United States and Mexico is South American country
I never seen a Dutch or German either Brasilian player |

My appologies for you not understanding my sentence...I guess I'll re-structure it so the kids can understand. Not all 30(ish) MLB teams are based in United States Cities...that being TORONTO AND MONTREAL (for now)...found in the Country of Canada... :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
Oh and Mexico is part of North America...not South America. It sometimes is considered Central America...but not offically...check.

This article was written in and around 1997 (maybe earlier as I continue to look) from the Addams Report. There is plenty of more sources/information, if you know what to look for.
Also, since I was looking, the Japanese Professional Baseball league began in 1936...9 years before our supposed introduction of "American Culture" began.

But i don't think Baseball is goin to be as popular in Europe as popular in America tho
Same with footy, in America footy never goin to be as popular as is in Rest of the world
I think the reason why baseball never goin to be popular In europe , becouse the media doesnt play baseball.
In the other hand thats goes with American media.
Soccer will never be as popular as elsewhere , becouse the American media doesnt play too much soccer on tv
Plus, footy is the traditional game in Europe, so they will never really goin to like baseball. Same with the baseball and American football, its the american traditional game , they will never goin to like footy as much as the Europiens do. |

Baseball isnt even popular in europe. the reason we dont like, or care for baseball isnt because the media doesnt show it, and they dont, its because we dont care, we dont like, baseball, if the media showed it, they would lose money, because no one would watch any games. it is the same as you said in america, media rarely shows football.
I just found out, the american oylmpic baseball team failed to qualify for the olympics in athens 2004 to mexico!!! "dirty" mexicans beat the mighty american baseball player. WHAT A PITY!:haha: :haha: :stongue: :haha: :haha: :haha: |

| We can call it the world series because the best players in the world play here. With the exception of the guys who can't get out of cuba or whatever, if your good enough you'll be playing MLB. |
