I liked BKS' Production till they came out with Astroplane. That one made me think "What the are these guys thinking???????!!". AFter that Sheppard got himself this weird DJ Taucher-esque makeover. What the hell is he doing now? Doing Door-to-door sales of his old CD?

He is a pioneer, no matter what happened to him now.

He really brought the first real BIG party to toronto in 1992

Richie Hawtin,Moby and Him

Always been a legend of the toronto scene and canadian scene for that matter. He will always have a place in my book and who can forget his intros...you and your whole damn crew.

a. you gotta be able to mix the music for one thing....you can just pick up some tables and just start....it takes months upon months of pratice to get just one set perfect....
b. you gotta have the passion and drive to want to do it....or else you end up like chris sheppard and m.c. Mario....total and complete sell outs...
c. you gotta know your music.....i have heard people who absolutly hate electronica tell me that "Oh well i could spin that music no problem".... oh yeah buddy tell my how many BPM's this track is.....what type of electronica is it.....is it party worthy or not....do you know how to match tempos....keys....ect...

Actually, I've found it more of a prep/jock complaint.. (especially my sister)

Not to mention the age old " it's nothing but some repetetive beat with a bunch of noises around it"

I really liked the album BKS - For Those About to Rave We Solute You. Back in the early 90s, his music was pretty good, as he did not jump on the commercial bandwagon yet. I really liked his style when I heard him spin at various raves, under "Dogwhisle".

Wasn't Chris Sheppard an alcoholic?
M.C.Mario still continues to put out C.D's
in my opinion they should both be put out of their misery

As for all the poser djs eg 103.5 djs they are all kife,
i cant believe they still make euro music, euro is the
biggest pile of crap, and it amazes me why they do not
play any other music for example trance, i mean there
are millions and millions of people who listen to it
and the guvernment is the best club in the city for a
reason and its not because they play euro! :eyespop:

It's my understanding that he had some sort of substance abuse problem - but has since won that battle and gotten back on the horse. Kudos to him.

Mario must be doing something right. Look at his bank account.

the only thing mario is doing right is selling out the industry to the mainstreamers in mainstream land....did anybody see the commercial for M.C. Mario Mixdown 2003....he was standing behind a DJ set....making it look so easy to do....and chicks were climbing all over him.....it looked like something that a "POP" star would do.....quite frankly made me sick...not the women...just the commercial and what is was implying.....those kinds of stero-types of electronica are ruining it for the rest of use....we all know that is not how this industry works.....the better djs dont have women climbing all over them during a set......hell they hardly have time to spend looking at them......they are more worried about how the music is sounding and how the people are reacting...not how the chicks what them.....that comes afterwards....hahahaha....
anyway.....i just feel that chris sheppard and mario are ruining this industry with their mainstream bull......i do not like mainstream trance..or any mainstream tech for that matter....it does not sound bery good in sets...or buy its self on a track....sure maybe in the clubs that i have in my town....that play the top 40....which by the way are starting to get a little better considering some british soilders have come to the town and started giving advice to the local club dj's in....keep in mind that we have no resident tech djs in any of our clubs....you might here 15 minutes of the latest mainstream tech but thats about it.....anyway got a little off topic....
so thats my point mainstream sux....underground rocks....

I will repeat myself...
havarti anyone?
all that pop- that Chris did makes me sick....

Muahahahahahahaha .....:haha: :haha: :stongue:

I never liked his mixes anyways ... just few tracks rarely ... and mostly a big bunch of crap surrounding them (1-3 good tracks, 10-15 crappy tracks).

And Sheppard had some good , VERY GOOD stuff back in the early-mid 1990's, so diss him all you want, but not that era ....
