chris shepperd?? (pg. 3)

teraform: man you have some serious angst issues. I think you're really blowing this all out of proportion. "ahhh chris shepeard is ruining trance". The job of a dj is far far easier then that of most musicians. People can go their entire lives playing piano or gutair or the chello and still be learning throughout their lives. You listen to an early oakenfold or sasha set and they have the same skill set they have now. You said it yourself when you said it takes "months of practice to perfect a set". Man.. months of practics is nothing. To play the piano or classical guitar at any kind of professional level takes a decade or more. Now I'm not going off here pissing on djs. I have tech 1200s and I spin lots in my free time. There is skill needed to piece together a solid set. I just think the skill needed to beat match two songs made by other people and then move the cross fader at the right time is somewhat less then other musicians.

I'm sure this will really get you spooled up.

well i totatly agree with you man about the musicians jobs....a lot harder then that of the dj's....months and months of practice is nothing comparied to that.....

but my statement was just to say that chris sheppard is selling out the industry....nothing more....sure he was a good dj in his early days....but now he just sucks.....anyway...nah man you didnt get me spooled up......i have to agree with you on most of what you said....

These threads really bother me. On one side we have all these people saying “why don’t people have an open mind” to Trance and electronic music. And then we have the same people say that ‘euro’ sucks and so does this and that. Others make references to ‘preps’ who do not like electronic music (people would probably consider me prep and I love Trance)

Allot of you should take a long look in the mirror and decide how open you are to other genres before getting all tied up on what people think of electronica.

i gotta give respects to chris sheppard during his pirate radio days. nowadays, i just don't care. my friend loves euro and i hate it. people line up at plastique and wherever else because they like it. i line-up across the street at system because i like prog/trance. i'm not gonna say people are ignorant for listening to what i consider crap because it's their choice. i laugh at posts where peeps are complaining about what they hear on 103.5. you know what they're gonna play! either switch the station or stop complaining! trance got a bad name because of euro, but trance still rocks! i remember when everyone is complaining about the rolling snares, synths, builds and breakdowns and pixie vocals. i can tell the difference from cheese and quality. so what? enjoy the music and just accept that people have different tastes. as for smearing chris sheppard because he sold out? what is selling out? moving on to what he likes or making more money is selling out? so euro is selling out, and trance is underground? just be happy that you have the choice to listen to what you want!

I am into almost all electronica genres (see my sig space), yet I can be found in different threads supporting one aspect and criticising another idea. For example, in one thread you'd see me bitterly supporting Kylie Minogue, and in another saying some ... well, not nice things about Tiesto (but I still like Tiesto). Even in trance there's some stuff (not specified) that I'd love to get into dirty arguing ... There's simply no perfect music genre out there, well ...... maybe except to Disco ...... naaaaaaaaah .......LOL

And the new eurodance (post '99) is quite bad.

Tell me more about that ... I dont seem to recall any of those from the top of my head at the moment .... too wooozy ...... the only ones I rememeber bitterly are those who deserted the great dance/eurodance scene after the Golden Era ....

tee hee chris sheepard has a cool voice.

isnt he cheese though? isnt he behind love inc? :wtf:

You absolutely cannot call classic eurodance of the early 1990s cheese, because not only did it come before trance, it had an influence on trance beforehand and so forth. Many of people like me, who were raised and influenced in that era of music, like to call it the Golden Era of Eurodance/Music. Personally, I placed an approximate barrier, the border between where eurodance/dance went from good to cheese. For me its the year 1998, late in that year. The new Chris Sheppard stuff is no doubtedly cheese, Love Inc is partially cheese ... That is, "Broken Bones" was a great classic dance track, and "Here Comes The Sunshine" is cheese. Makes sense? LOL :nervous:

well myself i dont crap on people for what kind of music they like...whether i like it or not.....dont like the fact that i dont say anything to them...then they go and crap on the music that i like to listen to.....

worst comment of all time....and i hear it every time some one points out that i like this type of music is
"Oh you listen to the Techno Crap"...or whichever.....
its like it is really hard to say "oh you listen to techno"....
i dont go around saying "oh you listen to the country " blah blah...

That gets real annoying real fast....especially for someone that does it as a proffesion.....

when it comes to people dissing certain dj's on a forum...cause they dont like it well....thats what the internet is for "Slandering others anonamusly"-jay and silent bob strike back. anyway some people just do it because they are bored...got nothing better to do....and they have a point they would like to share with others that have some views on the same subject......

anyways im not trying to be a dick.....to people for what they like to say about other people about the music they listen too....or to totally get people to stop listening to chris sheppard.....nothing is going to change someones mind just cause they read something....unless they are very easily influenced......but other then that every thing i say is just an opinon...thats all...nothing more....

I am overly sick and tired of people saying that to me. Especially when I actually more over listen to trance, and they still say that crap .... f--cking a$$holes .... they all dress the same, walk in the same way, wear similar chains and such, like identical twins, and yet dare to diss our music ... they have one annoying face, our music genre has many faces, different looks and perspectives ... it's a global music genre, and probably the best music genre where people are driven and united together by this beautiful music. nternational language.

Whatever, I am sucking at explaining this, but you sure get the point , I hope ....
