anyways... they fit nicely.. just need to test em out now :p

to better hearing for everyone!

i got my ER-25s the day before tiesto, frmo teh same place Cam got his

was $176 all up and i got clear ;)

how were they at tiesto? was it clear? could you hear conversation? comfortable?
tathi
yeap they were very comfortable, although sometmies i was a little paranoid that they might fall out :nervous:

when tiesto dropped some of the epic tunes i took them out and it was amazing at how much of the high frequencies they cut out

on the drive to Home i tested them out, and i strained a little bit to hear what some people were saying in the back seat, but in the nightclub, i could hear conversation as well if not better than the next person

that night was the first night that my ears havn't been in pain for a week afterwards :)

If you're going to buy custom ear plugs make sure you specifically state "Etymotics". When I went to Excellence In Hearing the guy had had no idea, I had to also tell them that Phonak are the ones who fit the filter into the moulded plug. It took a bit of investigative work and quite a few phone calls. I guess after they had successfully done my ones the process would be smoother for you guys.

I feel that the ER-25 may cut too much sound out... I'm wondering whether using filters that are one step weaker would be better.

Also, even though the Etymotics are the best in the market, the attenuation is still not perfectly flat. The higher frequencies are still cut out a lot. This of course can affect the level of enjoyment and appreciation of the music. As a consequence I don't wear them as often as I should, to the detriment of my hearing.

I think I have a bit of tinnitus myself... every night before falling asleep there's an incessant high-pitched ringing in my head. It's not loud enough to drive me crazy (yet?). Do you guys experience the same?

my hearing has taken a gradually depreciation since listening and going to clubs

now my discman's max volume doesnt bother me anymore.

i have to have the tv up a couple of notches louder.

and my music can never be loud enough..

however, i had a hearing test for work, and i was told that my hearing is still good, however i can tell its not as good as it used to be...

still.. nothing beats excessively loud trance.

you wont say that when you loose your hearing though :)

I thought the clearest sign of tinnitus (apart from the constant high-pitched ringing) was the inability to separate different sources of noise? Sort of like being able to separate and clearly distinguish voices against background noise (which I'm extremely bad at)...

yeh i was worried bout that. you can get lower level filters (like 9, 15, 20) without having to do the mould again. works out cheaper too.

so how did the ear plugs work out erratik? I'm going to get mine fitted soon!

they're ace mate. i was wearing them for the first time last time i saw ya @ space ;P

only thing is they may be too good ie. cuts out too much sound. had i known that i might have gone with the lower value one (15 or less), but the product specifications state that for anything more than 4 hrs you should be going with the 20's anyway (the others are not effective then), and seeing as the objective is to not lose your hearing i think the sacrifice in sound is well worth it.

considering you're dj'g and up near the speakers a lot then i'd go the 20's for sure. cam might be able to offer more feedback dj-wise.

don't forget to choose your colour when you do the mold!
