hey guys,

dj wise they are impossoble to mix with.... thast the standard 25's (think thats what i got)

ive tried on numerous times but it just cuts basically all the highs and leaves just pure bass...

but i dont know bout yours erratick but mine have replaceable filters, yours should to... ive got some 15's filters waiting for me i gotta go pickup.. they only cost $30... crazy considering the filters are only about the size of a few bits of sand lol!

but ill let you know how they go for djing when i give em a go...

but for non-djing purposes the standard 25's are fine..

Anf you will find you get used to them quickly and now i cant be ina club without them, my ears hurt!! no joke!! they are accustomed now!

nice, i still think its worth it.

my ears already have a slight ringing, so i dont want it to get any worse.

I will try my best to DJ with them on, see how it goes.

Im going to give the place u got them erratik a call, they seem to be cheaper than what Cameron got quoted?

Mine arrive on friday morning.. in time for 13 hour marathon at ANOT & the DJ comp.

I wasn't gonna try mixing with them... as people had told me they were too quiet for that... but i'l definitely have them on for the rest of the night,

my ears are still damaged from 2 weeks ago at gas...

how do you get the filter out? I got my er-25's at the same place you got yours so they should be exactly teh same

imo the reduction of noise filtered through the er-25's is a worthy compromise, i'd prefer dulled down music at clubs than tinnitus :nervous:

yeh last time i checked they were anyway. who knows, give em both a call and see if the prices have dropped.

burwood is a 10-15 min drive from where i work so they were more convenient.

yeh cam, mine has replaceable filters too. just need to place an order if i want any other filters. i'll stick with the 25's for now.

well mine came 2 days early.

I had them in my ears for a couple hours this arvo to get used to the feeling of them.. and I hace to say they are quite good.

In fact when I finally took them out, I actually felt like my hearing had improved coz my ears were adjusting to hearing very quiet sounds.

Anyhoo.. I mixed with mine no problems.. mind you my HD25 headphones were up on half way to be able to hear it clear enough...

What a lot of you call a lack of trebel is in fact just a lack in all frequencies really. Like.. everything is pretty toned down. Id say that there is a sharp cut off somewhere around 12KHz tho :(

The bass is still quite loud, but nothing's gonna stop bass from going thru your ears.. hell it goes thru cement walls!

In all, I probably won't mix with them on at Arq coz I never use the monitors and its pretty quiet behind the decks there anyways.

I probably will try use them at icebox tho, as I find that is a fair bit louder in the booth even with the monitor off.

ok, so not really being apart of this thread, however having obviously damaged ears, and always having to have music and tv's louder in order to hear them properly, to save my hearing as is, for dj'ing as opposed to going out.

what is recommended i pickup???
muli
ordered mine yesterday, parents paid for my bday present ;D

I'm going to try my hardest to mix with them on, so here is hoping!!

Should get them by the time i come back from Fiji. :disbelief

Finally had my impression made yesterday arvo...They are coming with the ER25's as standard and i've asked to purchase the ER15's for comparison purposes. Load off my shoulders now the wheels are in motion for me getting them. I should have em in two weeks.

there was a thread in the DJ booth a lil while ago, created by freak about earplugs. he got some custom made ones, cost about 150 pounds. but his review made them sound spectacular. ie you could still hear *everything* -it was just quieter. if and when i go earplugs, id go for the best. you cant pay too high a price for your health imo. and itd suck not being able to DJ coz you were deaf.

Had mine for over 6 months now, try to never go into any loud venue without wearing them. They work brilliantly, if anything, improving sound quality (well the perception of), because your ear drums aren't having the crap belted out of them.

I haven't been able to dj in them though, Would be interesting to see what the 15's do in that respect.

I tend to mix in my phones, giving me some protection. Also when not mixing i also leave my phones on for protection also. When I finish a set I put my plugs back in straight away. (Also wear them prior to have, 'fresh' ears to mix with).
