I happen to agree. JP is an awesome DJ. But I don't classify him in the same category as PVD etc. They're different types of music. The last time I heard JP spin any likeliness to trance was on classic night last year. ANyway, I hate to see him leave SF, especially for Vasquez, but I guess change is good(especially for him). I'm sure he won't have a hard time getting a job somewhere else in the city. I would say his resume is pretty good to say the least.Maybe he'll go to Limelight/Avalon. That might be phat for him! |

PVD - journeys
JP - awesome when u fawked up... tons of bass and hardcore underground beats... House owns NYC... and NYC=house (DT and JP)

extended cd sets have been known to take over every once in awhile. :rolleyes:
but yeah literally, from 11pm saturday night to 2am monday morning. ridiculous. |

JP is weak...i won't waste my energy explaining why..and yes i think you can compare Dj's of different genres to each other, in essence they are entertainers and i happen to think the music JP plays is e...I agree though that he is not comparable to PVD ARMIN FERRY ETC...these guys actually produce quality music as well as DJ...

I have an immense amount of respect for Jonathan
the man plays at least 12- 13 hours each night minimum! Think about sitting in one spot for at least 13 hours, let alone spinning. hes mixing, programming and controlling an audience for that time period just about every saturday for YEARS. think about it. i think he missed 2 or 3 nights, post 9/11 and another time (i forget).
even 6 hours is difficult to successfully pull off consecutively.
his sound might not be what i like but you cant deny he is the most loyal & hardest working dj in the north east. maybe even the us. |
