American Psycho Movie Question

Just a question about American Psycho 1. Im usually good with figuring these kind of things out when it comes to films but something in this movie confused me, could be because I was really tired when I saw it but anways..
From the pictures drawn at the end, and with the lawyer saying that the other guy that the Bates (the psycho) supposevly "murdered" was in london and still alive.
I wanted to know if all the murders and ect were all just figment of imagination due to his mental state. That they were all made up and he only thought of doing those murders, but being a "psycho" he actually thought he commited the crimes. Or was it real?
I havent read the book yet, only seen the movie and the end of the movie confused the hell out of me. If you have any thoughts on the movie or answers to my question reply w/ them.

Ahh so I was right. Theres always those things that make you think when it comes to plots like these. Such as in this one, when he almost shot his secretary in the head with the nailgun. Seemed very unquestionable at the point. Then again there were the ones that were questionable such as the chainsaw murder, where he was watching texas chainsaw masacre before so he couldve used that as one of his imagined murders. As well as the gernade launching gun when he shot the police officers, also the 007 acurate shooting. All of those things made me think. The investigator must've been the major barrier which made me believe the story up until the end.
All in all very well thought out and written book / script.

read the book, it is freakin amazing. although it gives a bit too much detail, like entire chapters on genesis and whitney houston, it is amazing. I actually had to read this book for a crime and violence in lit class, so we got really in depth into it. |
