However, some experiences force you to grow up. My mother was kicked out of her house at the age of 16 to fend for herself because they were poor and my grandpa was a raging alcoholic and she had to leave because my grandma was afraid my grandpa would kill her by abusing her so much if she stayed. That forces one to mature quickly because they have to survive on their own.

You never grow up until you've left home and start making decisions by your lonesome. Parents can be particularly helpful during this phase by completely ignoring their siblings. Self sufficiency is a matter of survival. Of course, we all don't make the best of decisions during this period, but by God the decisions were ours!!!

i don't want this to sound harsh, but obviously you haven't grown up in a an abusive situation in your family, it changes your perspective on things at an earlier age.

Well, I wouldn't call the situation in my family pretty either, but that's another story. It's a simple fact that a brain is not fully developed at 15 years of age, and that in most cases a person who is 15 will think differently when he/she is 25. Not to mention all the hormonal differences between a teenager's body and that of the adult. Perhaps the general attitudes towards the world won't change much during that period, but logic, deduction, reasoning and cognitive skills most likely will. I agree that some events which happen in life cause a person to change perspective on some issues, and to become, let's say, more mature, but the full realization of personal actions and consequences usually doesn't come at the age of 15.

of course a brain will think diffrently at 15 then at 25... it will think diffrently at 50 then it would have at 25! we are talking about maturity in a very general form, not as in completly full of life experience. look, my boobs were fully developed at 15.. i think it is diffrent for everybody.

i think it happened a little earlier this year... i went into about 2 months of depression - almost dropped out of high school, couldn't sleep, kept thinking about this girl... hated my life basically.

Then things started to get better and i started living for the moment. Now im mostly always happy.

And obsessed with Trance:D

hmm .. i guess my turning point in life was when i was 17.
i was a punk ass kid who decided to leave home and fend for myself. i was arrogant, naive and dumb. all this for a girl. well i stepped into a whole lot of at that time but here i am nearly 6 years later. still kickin. still much much more to learn and experience though.

Yes, but people of 25 years of age can pretty much talk with those who are 50 years old at about the same level. A 15 year old can't.
