Do u have Friends who don't appreciate u..??

Do you ever feel that some of your closest friends don't appreciate you?
I love my friends, but why is it that I ALWAYS have to make so many sacrifices?
-Why do I always have to be designated driver? (EVEN on my 21st birthday! How whack is that!?)
-I won a free trip to catch AVB in Vegas, free hotel, plane ride..etc.... and I brought my friend who didn't even buy me a DRINK when we went, I EVEN had to take my car to drive to the AIRPORT!
-I won passes again to check out this pretty nice party.. and I invited my close friend and she wont even drive me to go pick up the tickets (cuz they got "other stuff to do")
-I always end up having to take care of my friends cuz they get soooooo messed up, and guys will just take advantage of them left and right.
-I even get dragged to COUNTRY LINE DANCING CLUBS in the freaking boonies..yet this friend refuses to go to a trance club with me?!?
No matter what it is... I always take care of my friends..whether its buying them drinks and "party favors" or even making sacrifices..like being the "WING-GIRL" (yes there is such a thing as a "WING-GIRL")!!!
I know its my own damn fault for being so nice sometimes.. but damn!
Tell me there are some other people out there who are good friends and feel this way about their own friends...
or am I asking too much out of friendship? |

But there are friends that are devoted to the end.

this is the reason i don't have friends. I had the same experience as you do and so i chose to be somewhat of a looser then put out and get nothing in return. If im ever in orange county i will drive you to a trance party in MY car and buy YOU a drink.:) |

most friends relationships are based on personal gain by the other party. you either bring them some sort of entertainment, or you give them stuff they need, like rides, tickets etc.
some people are abusers of this, as it sounds like your friends are
other people who are much nicer will reciprocate favors.
i know that the reasons i am freinds with alot of people is because they get me hookups to stuff, or are ways to network and meet other people (girls). i don't necesarily enjoy my time i spend with them tho.
but i always try to repay any favors payed to me, or try to be nice and do stuff for other people. i try not to dig my self in too deep, but i seem to fall into the same position you are in.

yeah your friends are a bit weird... try to find some others, who are more thankful... or try to be a little less nice sometimes, maybe they'll realise. |

Im soooo sorry to hear that you are sad; I know what you mean! Ive had similar experiences with people I thought were my best friends that sure as hell didnt act like it while I continually went out of my way for them....and the favors were never returned. Not like I expected anything from them; just that they ACT like they care about our friendship thats all ::rolls eyes:: lol!! so I know how you feel. You won't find too many genuine people these days and it really sucks. I only have a few girlfriends that i consider my BEST friends; and I would do anything for them. Im not friends with many girls for the simple fact that 9/10 of them are shady bitches/catty/out for themselves/follow the crowd... I could go on and on but you know what I mean! Its hard too bc where Im living right now I don't have any girls to chill with that are into the music... and music RULES me. lol. Its my passion; so thats always a big conflict when I want to go out and all my friends want to go to some club that *everyone* (lol) goes to that plays 50 Cent or something obnoxious along those lines. Too bad you live out in Cali or else Id suggest we hang out sometime LOL:D Well take care sweetheart, and I know its easier said than done.... but maybe you should start looking for a new group of girls to spend your time with because life it too short to waste on that ; you need and deserve to be happy!

You could have denied. Just say " you biteches! It's my 21st ing birthday and I'm gonna drink, so I'm not gonna be some damn designated driver toingday! Either one of you drive, or you can all just off!" or something similar, maybe a little friendlier ;) |

hah. dont worry i feel for ya.
there was this friend whom i had known since i was a kid. we chilled in the playgrounds and together then. he used to always ask me to buy him candies and icecreams. i was ok with it because i've been brought up in a way where u should cherish your friends. well we slowly grew up. he borrowed my car and crashed it into a lampost. there was no apology. all he did was laugh and say to me 'hey ur car handling in sucks man'. i had to call the tow service and pay for the repairs. 4 grand. i didn't think much of it then because i thought it was partly my fault too. in another incident. he told some ppl he owed money to that i owe him money. so they came gunning for me instead. luckily i was with my mates at that time so they just gave me a warning. i went up to my so called 'friend' and confronted him about it. he begged me to loan him money to repay his debts or they would break his legs. so i was like ok... wtf... make sure i get this back. 10k. the week after that he dissapeared. i hear he's been telling people stories about how 'I' crashed my car into a lampost and how 'HE' loaned me loads of money to save me that i have still to return him.

In contrast to RachUCF1001 I find that most of my male mates are the ones that don't appreciate things as much (aside from a good few), ie they will be cheap s, sometimes they say behind eachothers' back. It could just be the group though.
My female friends are usually a lot nicer and appreciate things more and stuff. :conf: Even if I do get stuck in the friends zone with a lot of really nice females they still treat me heaps better!
Would that be cus I'm male? Although most of my female friends are fairly genuine and aren't bitchy (at least not infront of me)
As for the topic in general there's heaps of people out there that are way too materialistic and self-oriented to give a rats ass about a lot of things, with either sex :( |
