So lindows is making the obvious step in getting a better os for people that cannot comprehend how to install mandrake or any others. Which to me sounds perfectly logical, as long as they can get compatability issues down. |
wait... how can you not be able to install mandrake? 9.1 is AOL-level!!!! |

well depends on your point of view. I think of it as a stride to combine the two, there are obvious flaws in windows that are not in linux, whichever flavor you prefer. I haven't tried linux myself but from what I am told it is a bear to setup correctly, but when it is setup, it runs like a dream.

Thats not what lindows is... Redhat does that on its own etc.. Lindows is the walmart os. Trash. You can download the pos for free, then they sell you applications which would normally be free if you owned one of the other linux oses.
Whiskers, learn how to stop double posting. Put it all in one.

eh, I have never really looked too deeply into other os's. I am satified with xp for now. I'll wait til the masses get something new.

No kidding, now hes playing the childish game of saying hes putting you on the ignore list just to piss ya off. My bet is he didn't do it.
Yeah, Xp does it for me. There was an article a while back that said the reason they are setting longhorn's release date so far back is that XP is just good enough for now. It's not like certain other oses I know of that upgrade all the time ;) :D..

Windows 98 was a big step, especially with FAT32. but ugh! we all have our grudges with the BSOD. I was ready to abandon microsoft and join the linux faction. Sometimes i still think about it, but i always pull out in the end.
Windows SE didn't really fix anything, although it made LANs a bit more stable and easer. ME was a joke. i can't count the number of times i've been asked to fix computers that were faulty because of that stupid OS.
XP is great tho. of course, i enjoy ANY OS that is completely stable, even when the OS gets UNstable. :)
i have no idea about 2000. i've not tried it or been into conversations about it.
i really hope MS is right about their "SUPER MEMORY ALLOCATION" campaign of Longhorne. I just don't understand why they are saying it's the most memory efficent OS out there, only to require steep memory power to run...:( |

wow .. the UI looks very fancy schmancy .. i love it .. but i just can't put my finger on it . it seems i have seen this type of UI interface with the colors, window design, button design, and icon grouping ..
oh that is right .. that is Linux's UI setup with a blend of Solaris and Mac OS X mashed all together in one ... hey Microsoft!!! get your own damn UI .. stop stealing from others !! .. i guess u guys haven't learned your lesson yet, huh? .. hahahahaha |
