like everyone said in here, reflections is a side of paul that we don't know.....yeah, we are used to the great basslines and hard beats that paul gives us, but an artist always have to expand diff horizons and he did so with reflections. pvd fans just have to honor this and stop BITCHING LOL

u tell em indy i dont know why people are bitching cause he changed i actually like the album except for that hip hop track thats the only one im not really interested in at all besides that the album is good imo and listen to the lyrics in like a friend very deep

His livesets were some of the best I've heard all year. Past his prime? Nah I think he has a lot more in him. Am I obsessed with PVD? nah, just can't judge him bc of reflections.

anyone who suggests paul van dyk is past him prime is an idiot.

no, reflections does not use the same sounds as always.... it is pvd's move to diversify... .this means no closed minded idiot can predict where he's going to go next. if you can't respect an artist's need to work on something different three years after his last album without calling it commercial, you shouldn't be listening to new music. times change, life changes, music evolves. if it were stagnant that would be proof that it has no real meaning.

so shutup already and appreciate the effort... if you can't enjoy it, listen to something else.

Reflections was a dissapoint except for Crush, That's Life and Kaleidscope. the rest was pure pop sounding. I mean, wtf. Where is Paul heading these days, can someone please tell me?

release one pop album, making a track with 2 hiphop artists, scoring and appearing in 2 motorola tv ads, and 1 automobile testdrive showcase, etc&etc... there are so many things that I forgot what he has done alredy. :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

cheers!

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge pvd fan (I flew from LA to NYC for his roxy set)...it's just that I can predict at least half his playlist before I step into the club. He kinda pissed me off when he played NBY for his encore at roxy too...I mean c'mon, yeah that's his tune, but he's raped that song for what seems like 2 years now.

I dont know, maybe a lot of the promos out there right now suck ass or something, but he hasnt been playing a lot of new stuff...you know to the point where you look at your friends and say "What is this song?"

What do you guys think?

I think the same way you are, and this is one of the reasons that are indeed making me change my opinion and view about who Paul van Dyk is these days.

A couple of months ago you were defending him when people bashed the exact same things you did now.

What's the matter, found another bandwagon to jump on?

kaleidoscope??? that is THE poppiest of all...
its funny how you were once excited about connected, home and other tracks and now have only negative things to say about them. he made a track with a hiphop artist... and your point is?

and trust me, if motorola gives your new beloved dj the money, exposure from this opportunity they gave pvd, there is nothing you could do to stop him from taking it. and trust me, he would!

QUESTION: why do musicians, athletes, actors, and other performers do advertisements? because they get paid to do it...and it makes them known.... and dont tell me its a bad thing, cause you used to love connected, and that is the only outcoem of that commercial!
