Yes, prog does grow on you. There will come a time where you grow tired of formulaic trance and that's when you will begin to discover progressive. I found myself getting into ambient at this same time.
I've always said that progressive trance takes a trained ear to understand and enjoy, it's not for those who have just gotten into electronica. Of course there are always those few exceptions. ;) |

well, no..it didn't really grow on me. When I started listening to uplifting trance, I had also just started listening to the prog trance stuff..so I've loved prog trance for the same time I've loved uplifting
:) |

in my case it grew on me.. used to dislike it at first.. but its much more 'intelligent' than generic trance in the sense that you require a trained ear to appreciate it??
anyhows i like both ;) |

I liked it right away. It really depended on what type of progressive trance it was, i really liked christopher lawerance and d fuse.
it was strange when i fell asleep at a rave listening to progressive house. It that time i swear it was the most boring set ever. Progressive house grew on me, but for some reason i liked prog trance right away.
If i would have heard prog house from a good dj, i probably would have loved it right away. |

| I used to dislike almost all Prog, but I've slowly gained appreciation for it. I still think it's much more suited to the club than simply sitting at home, but to each his own. |
