Old people in clubs

Can someone explain this to me? I went to Roxy on several ocasions and saw bunch of senior-citizens on the dance floor! We're talking 50, 60, even (someone who looked like) 70 year olds! :nervous:I am trying to find an explanation for this strange phenomenon. I'm not talking about the obvious Narcs who stick out like a sore thumb... I'm talking about some granny and granpa rockin' away to PvD... :wtf:I saw some old dude wacked out on E in Sound Factory (last time pvd spun there). Then I saw bunch of old dudes at DC Armory parties (Ultraworld).
I don't have anything against that, I'm just curious... Whatcha think? :wtf: |

I see lots of old people at parties here in Toronto, and I'm really pretty cool with that in general.
However, the part about it that bothers me about it here is that most of them don't really party. They roll (or sniff coke), hug the speakers, and sit around the whole night and clog up the chillout area (or even the dance floor!). I'm not really too cool with that.
Old people have just as much of a right as any of us to party. I hope I'm still partying like that when I'm 60. It just bothers me a tad that the vast majority of them only seem to be attracted by the drugs - conforming to that whole negative "rave" stigma.
I like seeing older people though, especially older couples on the dance floor. Gives me the knowledge that we're reaching demographics other than singles aged 16-25. |
