Just wondering what the various TOTA producers are up to in the studio. I'll post some audio samples of my stuff in a few hours...

Air - Alone in Kyoto (Spritech's Eastern Horizon Mix)
LeMay - A Leo Lost
Spiritech - Curaga
Spiritech - Curaga (Intro Mix)
DigiNut
Mountains of work, mostly...

*sigh* wish I had more time to work on tracks.

I've got a few choons on the go...

I'm trying to finish them all up (That always seems to be the problem -- saying "Yep, they're done".)

I'll post them soon...

I can honestly say I have 2 albums worth of unfinished tracks.

I keep making up better melodies and arrangements and never can find the feeling and time and mood required to complete most of them....

I have some very nice stuff finished, but not yet mastered.
I'm release stuff once I'm done school in Audio Engineering, which after 3 months has already taught me SO MUCH related to producing better music.

I've got 2 or 3 girls auditionning for me to get some vocals recorded for dub mixes onto some of my tracks....

It's all just a matter of time before I make it big!!!
Psyrage
Psyrage - 911 [original mix] - afterglow recordings cd04
Psyrage - 911 [hard mix] - rmr02
Psyrage vs Random - Parental Guidance - rmr01
Unlax (Psyrage vs PSIH) - Middle Of Nowhere - beatmatch recordings cd03

theres more releases coming up soon... i also sent a couple of demos out to Overdose and Uberdruck and i got permission from DJ Dean to remix Ballan Nation part II ... havent started yet though i have the source file, midi, samples :) ...

i have a whole bunch of unreleased tracks that i made... i only spin them at parties...

i really wish i had more time... i havent really produced anything new since the summer... :( school and promoting is taking too much time :nervous:

Producing would be so cool.

Have you guys invested in all of the equipment, or do you play around with "virtual equipment?"

I don't know a thing about producing...kudos to you guys who have gotten into it.

the only thing i've invested in at this point is a pair of quality monitors, and a decent midi keyboard.

oh yeah, and time...lots and lots of time.

i find producing takes a good deal of discipline, at least for me. let's say i sit down to write something for 3 days. by the third day, it will morph into something completely different than what it originally was on day 1. it's hard to stick to that one original idea..there is too much morphing action going on hehe :D

Okay, so samples of my most recent stuff.

Not mastered yet, or finished for that matter

Please listen to this, I am really digging the sound of this sweet ambient remix.

Production equipment is even more expensive than DJ equipment. Standard sampler is about $3000 US, and that's maybe 25% of what you need altogether for a pro setup.

I got a Yamaha W5 when I was 14 and tinkered with that... used IT and the like a year earlier. The W5 reached its capacity when it started choking in the middle of songs and corrupting tracks. I guess it wasn't really designed to be used for the types of tracks I was trying to make (EDM in fact is only a small fraction of what I did).

So yeah, just PC for me these days. Music is music, I'm not going to go for all the expensive equipment unless I know there'll be a return on it. And yes, I also have that problem sometimes with finishing up tracks... it's a common problem, listen to a lot of the tracks out there - they just fade out, or follow the cliché routine of removing the melody, then synths, then hi-hats, then bassline, until its just a bassdrum...

Maybe I'll post a sample sometime... don't think I'm quite ready to face criticism from the pros yet. :p
