Review: Freeland & Infusion (pg. 3)

Last night I will never forget, the night that I lost my breaks virginity :clown: Bit upset about the guestlist ordeal, but I'm glad I did spend the extra cash to go to this party. Freeland was good, he was off last night, but still rocked the place, but you must admit he certainly wasn't at his best. Infusion absolutely destroyed the place. Unbelievable. I wonder if the question in the interview asking them why their sets are so boring had any influence on their set last night. Fantastic live performance. And K-Swing... SET OF THE NIGHT!!! Her mixing was spot on, awesome track selection, so much respect... I was about to go up to her and congradulate her saying how her set was better than Freeland's.

Quote of the night: LKD screaming at Freeland when he first took the decks "We want your soul!! We want your ing soul!!" :haha:

for those of you who know me, know that i've been looking forward to seeing that god damn mothering son of a bitch for a long time. walked in around 11ish to see BLC warming things up nicely. dropping some funky stuff to get the early birds going. though it was funny to see everyone else facing where the booth normally is while colin is playing in teh back, haha.

k-schwing then stepped up to the plate and damn did she punch out some sweet tunes! some really big party tracks, and some upbeat tunes to get the crowd going. though she slowed it down a bit and started playing some prog, which took the energy level down a bit. but she brought it back up nicely with some punchy, techy tunes right before infusion came up.

alright, infusion stole the show. like someone said elsewhere, the bastard child of hybrid (when they were good ;) and underworld. live acts rule, i've been saying theis forever. and these guys are no different. the singing, the dancing, the jumping, the screaming! OH THE SCREAMING! these guys brought the house down, i swear i thought my ears were going to bleed from all the cheering and yelling. WOW.

then, my man, no - THE man stepped up. started off just teh way his essential mix started, and i know some people didn't dig it, but i thought it was great. i love the "everybody loves good music track" and it's an awesome way to open up the set. set the tone of the night, which was ROCKing breaks. for those of you who don't like it, get used to it. the summer of guitars ain't over kids, this will be one of the big directions breaks will be (has already?) taking. HUGE tunes had me grinning from ear to ear. the beastie boyz remix, omg. smells like freeland? OH YEAH, TWICE! the crowd was ing eating it up, it was awesome. i was dancing so hard i burned myself out by 4. i just couldn't stop dancing though, this is exaclty how i like my breaks. big ripping guitar riffs, FAT kick drums, and massive basslines. ugh, i'm getting giddy just talking about it. hold on, just gotta turn on the freeland e-mix, one sec ;)............there we go, AWWW YEAH!!!

11/10 on the night, every act exceeded expectations, the crowd was great, everyone was smiling and some truly special people were there to share it with me.

EVERYBODY LOVES GOOD MUSIC \m/
