Tiesto pissed off at NEC?

He dudes,
I read a thread in the Dutch forum, as from an article on a belgium website. This is the source (its in dutch):

En dan verscheen de No 1: Tiesto op het podium! Met een VANDIT T-shirt dan nog wel! Tiesto gaf de MC niet de kans voor zich te laten aankondigen een gooide een strakke technoploot op de tables, zijn derde nummer wwas traffic, na een minuutje in deze trackk begon de naald te springen en wat deed tiesto???? Plaatje afzetten, de geluidsman onder zijn voeten gaan geven hij nam de plaat legde ze uiteindelijkk op een andere draaitafel en begon van vooraf aan, zijn gezicht sprak boekkdelen, op dat moment had tiesto nog geen enkkele kkeer naar het publiek gekeken! De technicus vervangde vlug de naald, maar toen gebeurde er iets! Tiesto was zo kwaad dat hij gewoon de arm van de platenspeler kkapot trok! Daarna trok hij hij de stroponkkabel uit, rukkte de stereo kkabel kapot en wou hij de technics tegen de grond smijten!!!! Iemand nam hem de platenspeler uit zen handen en toen ging ie leukweg de arm van de volgende draaitafel kapot doen! We wisten niet wat we zagen! Tiesto stond daar ongeïnteresserd te draaien kkapte een trackk gewoon af om de volgende op te zetten, probeerde 1 maal geforceerd te dansen achter de draaitafel toen hij over zen eigen voeten struikelde en op zen bek ging! En tien minuten voor het einde van zen set zette hij een lange schijf op en meneer was weg!
What is said in this text is that Tiesto was pretty pissed off at NEC. Something went wrong, he broke the arm of the turntable and threw the cussion under it away...... He Broke one of the turntables.
Ambs, a dutch TA member, confirmed the story cause she was at NEC.

ik was bij de NEC, ik stond helemaal vooraan en kan jullie vertellen dat het niet opgeblazen/onzin is!
Tiesto was boos, en brak de arm gewoon van de draaitafel af en flikkerde die zo naar achter... daarna ging hij nog eens die draaitafel heel hard de kabels eruit rukken alsof hij die ook ging gooien... en dat kussentje waar de draaitafel opstond werd ook naar achter gedonderd....
Tiesto was mijn #2 maar dit vond ik echt niet kunnen... daarna was er ook nog maar 1 draaitafel en 2 cd spelers voor de dj's na hem... Armin was er ook niet blij over maar heeft zich niet als een baby gedragen... mn respect voor tiesto was toen ook volledig weg... als het niet was dat vriendinnen van me me heel graag morgen bij invited wouden zien, zou ik ook tegen tiesto zeggen om me reed te kussen...
als #1 dj van de wereld *kuch kuch* kan je zoiets gewoon niet maken
She said he was pissed off & he plugged the cables out of the turntables. After him there was only 1 turntable & 2 pcdj's.
Wierd, isnt it?
Any of you guys know anything about it?
He didnt have sex the day before? Pissed of at Gatecrasher? What happened???

If I understood it correctly, one of his decks failed when it was halfway thru Tiesto - Traffic, so Tijs had to restart it on the other deck. Then his monitoring failed, so that he was forced to mix without any cueing whatsoever for a while cos he couldn't hear it. So needless to say he was pissed, but the ppl I talked to said that he wasn't THAT pissed, and he certainly didn't wreck the setup by pulling out cords or breaking the tonearm.
I'll let someone who was there clarify tho.. |

somebody who was actually behind the stage at the time said tiesto wanted a new needle for the deck with traffic on coz it was totally ed, then he just ripped off the tone arm n threw it away, then went to throw the deck away but a techie rushed up n grabbed it off him, then he threw the cousion.
ive heard things about the monitors but nobody else seemd to have that probem and i havnt heard any proof on the matter.
although many people have said pvd's mixing was a bit gash too (all the nonevandit bandits anyway) so maybe their was a problem with the monitors... |

basically, everything thats been said about tiesto ripping off decks and stuff is grossly over exaggerated. Of course he was annoyed, but you don't go around trashing the setup and ruin it for the next DJ :p

nah this was from sum1 who was actually up there (think they had press pass) n they saw him do what he did. |

Exactly. People are making the whole thing to be much worse than it really was. The needle or tonearm failed so he took it off and threw it. Someone came running up with another (I think it was actually scott bond that did this) and quickly replaced it. The whole thing was over in less than a minute. He was of course pissed off, but after his transition out of Traffic he carried on to do one of the best sets i've ever seen from him. Tiesto is a bit of a bellend but he did no wrong at NEC  |
