I´ll second that! although it got better start of september and cooled down quite a bit with the rain.
Don´t go to SanAn if you want to get a bit more of a cosmopolitan view of Ibiza and its guests - SanAn is british territory (sorry to the UKTAs, don´t understand me wrong) - stay in Ibiza town, way more relaxed :) |

Good idea!! The cheapest way if you go in group. I think rent an apartment for one week costs 900 € - 1000 € so for example if you are 5 costs + or - 200 € for each person. And the food and alcohol at supermarkets is cheap. |

and don´t forget the rental car. costs around 250 - 400 euro a week (depending on the car) and most apartments are a bit outside.
remember the Guardia Civil, don´t drive drunk or on drugs, they´re aparently clamping down a lot recently. |

Yeahh ing Guardia Civil (Police) :whip: :whip: we had problems with them at the airport for possession of weed. The quantity was just for our consumption but they reported us. |

Urgh, we had a run in with one guardia civil guy - he tried to knock hell out of my boyfriend and pushed me down the stairs, then he said he was going to shoot us! (All we'd done was get pissed and drop sangria on some scally girl):stongue:
Ibiza is an amazing island but its getting spoiled, it used to be just the cool people who went, now its full of scally beerboy twats and it just isn't the same. If you go to the right places tho I guarantee you'll have a fab time - try staying in San Antonio bay rather than the town and you'll more than likely be away from the nobheads.
Cream @ Amnesia is a must, as is Space (if you like your house) |

Bunch of dumb drunks that ruin everything.
Ive actually heard its dangerous by many on the island.
People will just cause fights for fun becuase they are either high on drugs or just drunk.
I stayed right on Bora Bora beach in Play den Bossa.
But I recommend renting a house or apartment in any place OTHER than San Antonio. |

nobody in Ibiza fights so thats bull,everyone is on a really good buzz and ,it wud be rude also not to go to the Subliminal Pre-Party's @ Mambo's on wednsdays,Morillo ruled Ibiza this year and so did house music,trance isnt THAT big over there.
best night on the island was ment to have been Morillo Vs Deep Dish 8 hours on Space Terrace.

Okay first off… you’re going to have a blast! Now that you know that, let’s continue. :) I had the privilege of going both to Ibiza and Mykonos last summer and each is different so your trip to Mykonos in 05 wont be spoiled by having already gone to Ibiza in 04.
When I went to Ibiza I was only with one mate of mine so we stayed in Ibiza Town in a hostile (we were travelling all over Europe so we saved money anyway we could). However since you are going with a bunch of friends I would imagine a villa is the ONLY way to go. You’ll have such a blast… just make sure it’s clean (obviously). I would recommend Ibiza Town as it’s closer to nicer resaurants, not “spoiled” by the lower class that other parts of the island attract (read San An), and is closre to the port. Oh and take a plane down there… the ferry sucked ass.
Now you may be thinking being close to the port is no big deal but actually it will save you money. Here’s how… Along the port are a bunch of bars/restaurants that all of the clubs own anyway. Let’s say you know you’re going to Amnesia on Thursday, go to the Amnesia bar at the port Wednesday or Thursday and buy your tickets there during the day/early evening… they are cheaper, and you can negotiate with the guy/girl to give you bargains/discounts/etc. Plus you’ll get to see the freak show when the people from Manumission start parading around the port, lol (hope I’m not offending anyone here).
Getting around the island is probably cheapest/most convenient via a rented POS beater car. The taxis are EXTREMELY expensive in Ibiza, but there is the club bus. It takes you to all of the clubs for like 2 euros, but does not run that often. Consider that for the nights when you guys are boozing. During the day you may want to the car to drive to the other parts of the island.
Like someone else mentioned, ibiza-spotlight is a MUST READ for any Ibiza Virgin (amazing website). Check out that section first… so much info you’ll need a few hours just to digest. It can be overwhelming but just digest and sit on the info for a while. Check back often for the schedules so you can see who is playing where and when. I would recommend July/August as that is when all of the good acts go down there regularly. But don’t think you’re the only one with the plan…. Everyone else will be there at that time as well.. but that’s sorta a fun thing too.
Go see the sunset at Café del Mar, as others have mentioned. Go to Amnesia and Pacha. Go to Privelege because it’s the world’s largest club (we didn’t make it there, but it’s probably cool). Oh and yes…. Bring LOTS of money (get travellers checks and cash them in proper Spain at an American Express). The island is set up for one thing… tourism. All the partys just bring tourists. Money makes the world turn. You have to contribute your share as well. :) Just try and save via the villa, supermarkets, etc. San An has some cheap liquor “deals” but I would not trust half of those places. Buy your bottles of alcohol in the supermarket (or bring them from NYC) and booz in your villa first. No need getting sick while you’re there. As far as drugs, I can’t help you there… never did any but I know they are about (if you’re into that sort of thing).
If you need info on Mykonos PM me… I have a lot of recommendations for that place… partied like a rock star there.. Ibiza was more budget for me (unfortunately). Either way you’ll have a blast! When you go to Space just think of Pete Tong introducing Oakie on that one Essential Mix… so many memories in that club…. It’s kinda cool to be clubbing at 10 in the AM and then head over to the beach after… get a bracelet so you can be let back in the club.
Other than that just use common sense… sun, alcohol, drugs, bad food, lack of sleep, etc don’t mix. Have fun but be careful. That is all mother Keith can recommend for now. Hahaha. Oh.. and ENJOY!!!!!!

Thanks for all the great info!!!! Just the type of stuff I was looking for. And I agree with your comment above as I'm first to admit that some friends and myself ruined a vacation because of not being smart about what we were doing. I've learned my lesson...hopefully anyway.
so we got our dates set...Aug 14(or 15)-22. What I need to know is what the big nights are at Ibiza. If we leave on the 15th, we miss out on Sunday night parties. Is that a bad idea? |
