Microsoft Word Urgent Help

In Microsoft Word under toolbar File there is a history of files that you recently opened. Hence they will be shortcut if you do want to open it in the near future. Is there a way to deactivate, reset, or delete them? I opened something that I shouldn't have. Truth is I don't want to get caught. And I don't think I deserve the punishment that will come if found.

Please help :(

My version of Word shows the last 4 files that were open. My advice would be to open another four random .doc files to knock the 'forbidden file' off of the list.

Just open a bunch of other files, usually it will only keep a certain number of files in the history before they disappear.

Or Go to TOOLS -> OPTIONS. Click on the GENERAL tab. Uncheck the box that says Recently Used File List. Click OK. Then do the same thing again (except put the check in the box this time). The list should be erased.
