No Credit where it is deserved.

I am furious. No credit is being given to where it is deserved. News Flash: The U.S. Did Not Capture Sadam On Their Own! FFS!

I know that the U.S. wants to take credit so that Bush's mission for Iraq can be credited and so it can seem as though it is working, but they were not alone!

Listen to some International News! They credit the Polish Brigade! Garliski was the leader of the brigade. The Polish intelligence, along with the U.S. Intelligence found them together. The U.S. placed the Polish brigade in front of them. They followed behind the Polish brigade into the hole.

Not a single shot was fired during the capture, nor was there any true violence. Shortly following, the U.S. took all credit. If I have my facts correct, which I do, Poland was one of the first countries to take the U.S.' back in the war, giving their troops and their hopes for peace. How is that so easily forgotten?

Never are the Polish given the credit/mention they deserve! I'm sick of it! FFS!

If you could provide a link to a news site online that says something about that I'd really appreciate it.

I suppose this could be interesting. I haven't been paying much attention since this morning--and I certainly know that many cooperating elements are responsible for the multi-faceted operations that have gone on for months that ultimately led to his capture. That being said, all I saw this morning was the press conference by MG Odierno who said that it as all U.S. forces who were present at the time of the capture. I don't know that he was trying to claim explicit credit, rather it sounded more like a disposition of facts that the reporters were trying to gather. So were there actually Polish forces present as well during the capture? That would certainly be interesting.

You see, I already *am* used to it. It's just when it comes to my home country, it feels like a low blow. :p

I understand your frustration, and in some other parts of this war, the US has given credit where credit is due. I just haven't seen anything about the Polish involvement, and that includes scouring the British and Australian news sites as well.

(Sorry, I can't read Polish news sites...although I'm pretty good with pronoucing the names. There are millions of you guys in this part of the country. :D )

Aussie sites usually publish stuff like that. Hell, our oposition leader called Bush 'the most incompetent and dangerous president in living memory'.

Then again, I wouldn't be surprised if it's true, the American administration seems to enjoy taking credit for everything.

The only sites that really mention it are the ones written soley in Polish. It was in the news, I heard it this morning myself. I gave the name of the head of the Polish troups that went in.

The U.S. and the Polish Brigade worked together (both the intelligence and those that actually captured him). The U.S. had the Polish Brigade enter first. (In my opinion, out of cowardness). Once the troops were inside and had everything handled, the U.S. "took over" and grabbed him and his guards. Mind you, the Polish were the first into the hole, and it was done peacefully, without a single shot fired, nor any injuries.

I quote/summarize from the larger segment of this mornings news (International News) "This is a very big day for the Polish, and they should be extreemly proud. The U.S. military and the Polish Brigade worked together in capturing Saddam earlier. Polish miltary forces went in first, with the U.S. working with them. Not too long after, both forces emerged with Saddam". (As soon as she heard about the capture, my mum popped in a tape and recorded it ;)).

The U.S. and the Polish Brigade worked side by side throughout this war. Once again, as stated before, Poland was one of the first countries that took America's back in the war. We have sent out our troops endlessly to help with this war, and given all the aide we possibly could.

I understand that this is a big day for all Americans and Bush, and that with the elections coming up, all needs to be finalized. However, I do not appreciate the three second mention at ten o'clock in the morning, shortly thereafter at noon, and then no mention for the rest of the day. Once mentioning twice, there is no need to continue on or put it in the website right? Good thing we have it taped. :p
