Ok I know that this is a ten day old thread, but I just have to reply.
It is very much possible to create a supersaw with reason 2.5, maybe not as harmonic and rich as the JP8080, but a supersaw nonetheless...
1. Add a new subtractor, be sure that all controls are initialized.
2. Activate Osc. 2
3. Tune Osc. 1 15 cent up and Osc. 2 15 cent down.
4. Pull filter 1 cutoff all the way up.
5. Pull Amp. sustain all the way up and set Release to about 1/4 of thh way up
6. Add a Unison filter. Set voice count to 8, set detune to 35% - 45%
this should be sounding like a very basic supersaw by now, and it's up to you to tweak the sound and add effects and EQ. |

Hey all..
I was just wondering if anyone can shed some light on how one would create a supersaw in reason 2.5.. i've done searches on this site and found tutes for the roland jp80xx synths.. and i've heard people make great supersaw sounds with reason.. can anyone start me off in the right direction?
thanks for your time |
:wtf: Don't let anyone discourage you about making a near perfect supersaw in Reason with the maelstom. If you want I can send you my .rps file where i made one exactly like Cryogenic's  (just better eq'd ;)) |

I know that this is not as exactly as JP but a very good job with EQ
RPS file here
And Moonforce did a pretty good pad too (Malstrom 4 BAR 83-89, just turn of the phaser, sounds way better)Here
And BTW acell, pretty fine melody there. IMO just add some noise to the main synth. |

a friend of mine has made one but she doesn't want everyone to know how to do it for some reason so unfortunatley I can't even post samples but I can give you a clue :)
tweak the out of the malstrom granular synthesizer and you can make it sound like a jp8000/8080 :)
the key is the saw*16 thingy :)
[edit]
I played around a little myself with reasons malstrom and came up with this :)
Download
took me around 5-10 minutes to do when I knew what I needed to use, it's a malstrom using built in superwave samples, some EQ and delay and voilá :)
guess that it's true what people say, it's not about what tools youre using it's how you use them :) |

don't know about that.. i've found the saw*16 to flange a little.. Don't like it's sound @ all..
from what i've found and as far as i'm willing to try now i'm using FLS, the Subtracer Synth is the best for super saws..
try this
(odd posting this considering this topic i started.. l0l)

The jp80xx's supersaw is only 7 or 8 voices yeah? Well.. try this in reason 2.0. Ad 4 subtractrs, Turn on OSC2 on each apart from the last and then detune all the the cent like this:
-30 | -20 | -10 | 0 | 10 | 20 | 30
then it's up to your eqing.. cut out the 80hz.. boost it a tad on the uper frequencies.. well above 1.5khz tho (IMO)
Or you can do what i'm doing. Using fruty loops rewired to reason and use a nice plugin like Superwavep8, VAZ or the pro53
|
see how that goes.. |

well if you feel it's flanging then youre doing it wrong :)
you can remove that flanging if you just work on it :)
I'll post another sample today after school.. |

okay, well here's my wannabe superstring sample:
The hardest thing to get it sounding good is making the most of eq:thepirate And I mean eq! eq! and then some more eq! :stongue:
For the high end use an instance of Maelstrom with one of its OSC's set on "Sawtooth*16* -tweak it/eq it etc- And use one instance of Subtractor for the lowend :p
And cheers to Vizay for hosting the sample me!:D |

i understand that you don't want to give your secrects out.. but can you point me in the right direction? |
You can't get supersaw in reason, but as someone told you, you can do it with pro-53. there's a tutorial for this. search the forum fo State Of Matter's tutorial. |
