so he was... really bad? |
Well yes, but it was at least tolerable compared to "The Nookie."
Edit: Ah ha! He isn't a DJ, it's his band at Excalibur. Here's a link to the video of "Too Cold", A/K/A metal Ice Ice Baby
I at least give the guy credit for not trying to run away from his past even though he now knows it was silly. At the time I thought it was cool too, particularly his performance in Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze. |

Is it me or has the talent scheduled in Chicago taken a steep decline?

| I don't think it's too bad. We just had Jon O'Bir & Ferry on 1/1 and we have Erick Morillo on 1/21 and Deep Dish 2/11, Blank & Jones on 2/12 and then PVD on 2/19. For January/February when it's usually a little slow anyway I don't think it's bad at all. I'm sure it will get even better starting in March though. :D |

| Jan/Feb are always pretty slow months - but I'm sure things will pick up in March with WMC and the summer months are always loaded with talent. But, you should come out and see some of the local or lesser known dj's - Mazi/Ipo/Kyle last Saturday at Vision was great!!! And it was only $10 if you rsvp'ed. So - give some of the lesser known dj's a chance - you might be surprised! ;) |

Oh, but they're not from Holland and don't get treated like rockstars, so they're not worth seeing!;) Just kidding.
Actually I missed the Mazi show this weekend, but this is very true that Chicago has some great local talent. Last time I saw Mazi was before Sander K and if you closed your eyes during his set, there were times where you would have thought Sander had already taken over the decks he was that solid. I'm still eyeing the big shows and seem to enjoy those more, probably because of the atmosphere, but the locals are definitely worth checking out during the down time of the internationals, especially since it's not a drain on the wallet.
Also must 2nd Kyle Szmurlo as well for some quality sets. |

Yeah, Mazi was awesome just before Sander K's set. I remember hearing another great set from him when he opened for James Holden. I guess I'll have to be patient and wait and see. I can't wait to see Deep Dish (again) and Nick Warren. |

he was at this rave/party in Harvey,IL in around 2001. I cant remember what kind of a show he did, whether live or dj or both, but it was kinda crazy to see him. |
