Has anyone else heard this new double record set? I went to my local record store yesterday, and picked it up along with the Tranceport double pack (which in rocks) I am wondering what he was thinking when he was making "out there" It sounds like happy hardcore?! "Movements" buildup sounds horrible! Good thing there is the PVD remix of Columbia on the other record, along with "Vega" Starecase remix. I didn't get a chance to listen to it while I was at the store, I just assumed every song would be sweet.....oh well.

I don't know man, I disagree.
He is definitely experimenting with a harder style music right now, and I love it. Out There, is definitely not happy hardcore, there's nothing happy or hardcore about it, it's just a twisted banging trance track.
Movement, I think, is incredible. It's hard, it's epic, it's always changing, no part in the song is ever repeated exactly, and it's always building. The instruments he used in there are super unique, like the track.
He's breaking the mold of the run-of-the-mill trance we have going around nowadays.
But, everyone has there own opinion, and I respect that. :) |

Out there is Incredible! Totally new sound from Paul. Dark, driving, progressive, techno.
I prefer his remix of Columbia than Starecase's. Movement neva really grew on me. |

I don't know if it is already released as an mp3 file, but you may cut it from the Gatecrasher 2001 Summer Sound System liveset by PvD. |

I hear ya man...I should have called it hard house instead of happy hardcore. My friend spins hard house, and it sounds exactly like the stuff he plays....ick is all I could say to that track.

I understand what you are saying, it's just that during the huge buildup in the song, it sounds like a kid banging pots and pans together or something. It just sounds out of wack for some reason. It just ruins the whole song for me....because other than that messed up build, it's a great song.

Thanks! I appreciate that and respect yours as well....
No disprespect to the man PVD, but I just wish I would have listened to this before buying it...becuase I most likely wouldn't have done so. So I came onto tranceaddict to vent my frustration!
Peace,
