well its true..every song on that soundtrack actually had to do with the movie itself.. not like other soundtracks where they put any in song they feel like on...kinda like a compliation album

The fact that Trance evolved from Techno seems to suggest to me that they have something in common.

To me, and thats all I'm talking about here, Trance as it should be has loads in common with Techno. But, hourses for courses. ;)

However, I know exactly what you're getting at with "trance / techno".
