PEOPLE PEOPLE! Don't read the list on the first pages and post every freakin name already on the current aliases list a million times..
Check the links on my sig for more updated info on aliases and post ONLY names and/or info NOT in the database, not what you guess isn't there yet. The list can be found also to dl behind the other link.
Haven't been able to update the database since August '03, been waayyyy too busy in the real world.. perhaps a new update gets ready before next year, dunno. I have also been trying to find time to sort out the list with info to be updated/corrected to be sent to a few helpful TAs but even that has been a bi**h to do.

Cygnus X's works are brilliant, varying from chilled breaks and going through uplifting trance ending up to sour acid trancers. Anyways it isn't A.C. Boutsen (real name Matthias Hoffmann) alone as said in the first pages of this thread but he works/worked with Ralf Hildenbeutel under the Cygnus X guise, no idea if they are still doing something. Last release i know from the duo was the 2002 mixes of their '93 classic Positron.
Hoffmann is also known for being behind a project called Brainchild (of Symmetry C fame, remember Lange's stunningly beautiful breaks remix!!),
Hildenbeutel is also known as being Sven Väth's co-producer and has worked together with Väth on many projects.
Hoffmann, Väth & Heinz Roth also started one of the best labels ever back 1991, called Eye-Q. To that label relates so many timeless classic tracks, Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar's original 1993 release being just one of many... label got closed in 1997 due some financial issues.

| This is proberly not the first time in this thread you've heard this question, but why does DJ's use so many different aliases, I noticed Ferry Corsten and also Armin Van Buuren, had a lot, though I think Ferry won the fight outscoring Armin seriously:whip: But back to the question why do they have different aliases?? |

For the record, M.I.K.E./Push and L-Vee/Airwave have a lot more aliases than Armin or Ferry. :p
Aliases are mostly used when an artist wants to try some different sounds, styles or otherwise not really same things as with the current alias. Not really sure about the reason for half the aliases many artists use as they sound very much the same as the artists' other aliases too.
Also some aliases may be signed to a certain label which means that when he goes to another label he needs to use a new alias because he didn't get a permission to use it anywhere else except on that very label the alias is signed on. |
