VICTOR DINAIRE – Future Progression, Sirius Satellite Radio, Arc,
Pandora Productions – NEW YORK CITY, USA
Passion. When you consider the quest of up-and-coming DJ Victor Dinaire, it's the first word that comes to mind. "I was always into music as a kid, but didn't really get into dance music until the early 90's when I was throwing parties at the Limelight, Tunnel, and Palladium. It was great working for all three nightclubs because I got a taste of three different scenes: the gay scene, the rave scene, and the mainstream club scene." From there, Victor worked Wednesdays through Saturdays at the clubs and spent the remainder of the week either 'flyering' the city or organizing another event. But something inside was telling him to do more: "I loved the music and always wanted to be a DJ and producer but I was busy and extremely afraid to try, even though I always felt I could make an impact. While the crowd was dancing and having a great time, I always observed the people's reactions to the way DJ's worked them. My favorite DJ to observe was Junior Vasquez. It was from him that I learned to work a crowd by setting dramatic sequences with key records. For me, the best moments in a club were the late nights at the Tunnel while he was playing." In 1996, Victor finally decided to take on more in the world of dance music. After just two months of practicing on his newly purchased Dj equipment, he landed his first gig at the Bank in 1997. The ride didn't stop there. Victor's interest in electronic music also landed him a promotion gig at Logic in 1999, where he now does promotion for artists such as: Gloria Gaynor, Giorgio Moroder, Danny Howells and La Bouche. But working as a Logic Artist is really where his reputation kicked off, enabling him to synthesize his DJing with his occupation. The next step in his journey led Victor mixing his first CD compilation that hit the top 5 position three consecutive weeks on the CMJ charts, Logic Trance Volume 4. Then came the successful series of trance classics, the latter of which nearly sold out: Timeless Trance: Morning Sessions and Midnight Sessions. Steadily, this New York City native firmly set a foundation for his reputation in some of the biggest clubs in New York City and is now playing to masses across the States and internationally. From Vancouver to Vegas, Victor has performed with esteemed artists such as: Flava Flav, Junior Vasquez, Rabbit in The Moon, Talla 2XLC, Marco V, John 00 Fleming and Sandra Collins. You can catch Victor spinning regularly at Arc in New York City, as well as making frequent stops to perform in North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Arizona, Rhode Island, Texas and beyond.

I have a live set of Dinaire in Korea....two notes...
1. AWESOME (AWESOME) track selection.
2. Horrible booty mixing for someone who is supposed to be a good DJ.
The mixing is so bland. It's like slow fade in, slow fade out. No style or anything. A lot of misses on the beatmatching, too. If it wasn't for the great track selection, the set would be a piece of . The track selection, though, makes the set pretty darn good. I just don't know how much I could take it if I went out to pay and see him.
This is going by one set, but the mixing was pretty bad. Take my two points for what it's worth...which probably isn't much. :) Not even I truly judge a DJ's skills by one set -- I've heard plenty of great DJs play truly horrible sets, and maybe the one I have is just a Victor having a bad day....but this set is being played on Music Choice over Cable/DirecTV/etc...not a good set to get your name known from :-|

sorry u feel that way. it would be nice to have everyone into my music but in reality, there will always be some people out there with opinions, people like yourself. thats fine too.
i stand behind my korea mix 100%, i love it & many people love it as well. im sure theres people out there that dont like it either. o well. if you think the mixing is "booty" thats your opinion & your entitled to that. i wouldnt have released it to music choice if i thought it wasnt good enough and they wouldnt of played it over 35 times on their channel if it sucked.
maybe the next mix ! perhaps Return To Korea,
peace |

Actually, I said the set was "pretty darn good," because of the track selection, which is great. I've listened to it numerous times myself.
But I do believe the mixing could be a lot better. But that's just me. And you have to understand, I'm a hater.... I hate on everything! :p

Hello,
Im glad the West coast can have a chance to experiance what we get regularly here in Nyc. About a year ago today the club I work for Arcspace had a dilema. The person who was supposed to close for Marco V and John 00' Fleming canceled out on us. My manager phoned Vic on short notice and placed him as the closer for our Marco and Fleming parties. Well to make a long story short this was one of the biggest nights for me in my life and Victor played a huge part in it by setting up a sick vibe and laying down amazing toon after toon. Mixing was amazing and Track selection was superb.
Other amazing Dinare Events we have had include:
Dinaire vs Nu Nrg (ARC)
Dinaire @ DEEP
Dinaire vs Judge Jules (ARC)
Gatecrasher Presents : Victor Dinaire vs Scot Bond (ARC)
Dinaire @ CENTROFLY
Dinaire vs Talla2xlc (ARC)
Hope you survive ;) |

| Dave, I suggest you go see him live, because Victor is no joke. Maybe what you heard on TV threw you off because it was on TV. Mic positioning could have been off and threw off some of the beats - whatever, Im not gonna argue this. But I will say that Victor is definitely top's, Ive attended almost every party that he has held in his loft for the past year, from the first to the most recent, and everytime he throws it down. Seattle get ready, because your about to get hit with a hurricane. |
