since IQ follows a normal distribution with a mean of 100 and a standard deviation of 15, an IQ of 182 would be 5.47 standard deviations above the mean, making the probability of a person having an IQ of 182, .0000000086197. Assuming that the united states has a population of 273 million (im assuming), there would only be 2.35318 human beings in the united states with an IQ as high as 182. So what now British Newspapers? :P:P
**btw, took me 5 minutes to figure this out using calculus and simple math equations** |

| well i used an integral formula to find the area between 181.5 and 182.5 considering its impossible to get a non-integer number as an iq.........its more accurate to use calculus to do this |

Er, I think if you read the story again you'll notice that the study was actually carried out in Pennsylvania (or however it's spelt, I doubt my IQ even gets into double figures). Our newspaper was simply reporting on the findings.

u can do all the sums u like mate, YOUR country worked out that IQ table, not ours, we only wrote what you did, so if its wrong, then american IQ table producers, what now :P :P

ok, by what i can recon of this, ur saying we are stupid for believing your table, saying that the table you created is wrong? are u saying that the people making the table are as thick as bush? and it aint our falut if u americans cant take 10 numbers and put then next to a name in the right place, well u proved that very well on the electians didnt you |

anyways, i didnt mean for this thread to become a giant flame, i just wanted to point out that an iq of 182 seems quite unreal, and that george w. bush is a few sticks short of a fag. alright, back to my trance :D:D:D |
